Commercial Account Manager Intern - Saint John NB

Position Purpose
 
This is an entry level, proactive face-to-face sales role in RBC’s Commercial Banking platform. The program is approximately 7-9 months in duration depending on previous experience, primarily in a Commercial Center where a mentor(s) is assigned to coach the trainee throughout the program. Training prepares the trainee to deliver excellent responsive and proactive service to Commercial business clients in the accounts, operating services, deposits and investments, credit and lending areas. Training occurs on-the-job combined with self-study material, interactive satellite courses and possible classroom training. After successfully completing training, the individual would be placed in a permanent position. The Training Program would start immediately.
 
Key Accountabilities:
 
1. Develop and document a needs based sales strategy, with input from RBC partners, for all clients and prospects in order to grow or increase revenue, client profitability and client loyalty.
 
2. Leverage sales enablers including sales planning, prospecting and pre-call planning tools.
 
3. Apply a continuous-improvement approach to achieving superior client experience.
 
4. Deliver financial advice and solutions that are tailored and value added to the client.
 
Knowledge/Experience:
 
Experience:
 
• Demonstrated sales success meeting and exceeding sales targets especially with respect to acquisition of new clients, prospecting and cold calling
 
• Financial statement review and computer modeling and analysis
 
• Previous banking experience in a relationship management role, will be considered an asset

Education:
 
A post-secondary diploma/degree, ideally in Commerce, Business Administration or related experience is required.
