Singapore′s job market likely to stay stable

Recruitment consultant Michael Page predicts Singapore’s job market will remain stable and grow steadily in 2016 with recruitment activity broadly positive.

Financial companies continue to attract talent particularly for private banking, risk audit and compliance, while the technology, healthcare and life sciences sectors continue to remain competitive, the firm says.

As many as 49% of respondents in Singapore in a survey by Michael Page expect to see an increase in headcount in the next year, while 44% anticipate numbers to remain the same.

Official data released Thursday showed that Singapore’s overall unemployment rate was at 2.0% in the July-to-September period, unchanged from the previous quarter.
