Your role

We are looking for tech passionate individuals to want to start their career in the IT industry. You will be joining a significant business area working for our largest UK public sector client working with inspiring experts from whom you can learn from and enjoy the career opportunities this brings. You will be joining a large community of Graduates and Apprentices across the business.  

This is a hybrid working role, you should expect to be in our Telford office 3 days a week. 

As a Software Engineer at Capgemini, you will be an integral part of one of our Scrum teams. You'll work with a diverse group of senior and junior engineers who share your passion for Agile practices, high-quality software, and innovative problem-solving.  

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Collaborating with team members to design, develop, and deliver software solutions that meet our client's needs. 
  • Embracing Agile methodologies to enhance productivity, communication, and project success. 
  • Learning from experienced senior engineers and mentoring junior team members to foster a culture of knowledge sharing.

Your profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Strong knowledge of at least one programming language such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C++ etc. 
  • Understanding of software development methodologies and best practices. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. 
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills. 
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies. 
  • Internships/Industrial Placements or personal projects demonstrating software development skills are advantageous. 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git). 
  • Experience with web development frameworks (e.g. Django, Angular, React, Spring, Spring Boot). 
  • Knowledge of database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL). 
  • Understanding of software testing and quality assurance processes. 
  • Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
