Job Description & Qualifications

Eurotherm develop, engineer, manufacture and support products and systems for use across the world. Our wide range of products contain market-leading control algorithms, recording and data management strategies which add value to industrial processes, improving quality, reducing waste, and ensuring data is kept safe. Our products include Temperature Controllers, Data Management solutions, Power Control, Machine Control and Process Automation.

The Role

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated and passionate in making our offers modern, delightful, secure and performant. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a greenfield development and would suite an individual that has an established set of skills in both front-end web development and back-end services. In this long-term project, which is building a platform from ground up, you have an opportunity to shape the future of all new offers from Eurotherm.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the architect and make recommendations regarding design of the software and technical specifications.
• To write new, secure and performant code to a high quality that meets the design and offer requirements.
• Deliver clearly documented and accurate designs.
• Have knowledge of specific areas of the product development or technology and actively assist other engineers in areas of expertise.
• Be self-motivated and be able learn and develop new skills as required.
• Provide input into architecture design and take responsibility and accountability for subsystem design.
• Challenge assumptions and strive to find own solutions in discussion with other engineers.
• Identify opportunities in product development that will provide benefits to the customer.
• Provide support to the validation phase of the development and the validation department.
• Identify and suggest ways of improving the company working practices and implement the changes.
• Have knowledge of and be able to interpret compliance standards.
• Perform research in areas defined by oneself or others.

Requirements

• Educational Qualifications such as a BTEC or, Master’s in Computer Science, or substantial experience in the Software.

Desirable

• Agile work experience.
• Experience of Test-Driven Development.
• Experience of Industrial Automation Equipment.

Job Skills/Competencies Required

• You must have proven web application development skills, using the Angular framework.
• Proficient in TypeScript and C#.
• Secure Web development (OWASP, Secure Coding Standards) and Secure Development Life-cycle practices
• Web back-ends; Node, .Net core.
• Git and the Gitflow branching model.
• Development area in a process driven environment.

Desirable

• SQL.
• Electron.
• Windows Application development.
• Microsoft Azure.
