Job Description & Qualifications

Right around the globe, people are using transportation, buildings, and assets that Graduates at Turner & Townsend have helped to deliver. For more than 75 years, as an independent professional services company, we have been making the difference, transforming performance for a green, inclusive, and productive world. With a growing team of over 10,000 in 50 different countries, we specialise in programme, project and cost management and consulting in the property, infrastructure, and natural resources sectors. It’s our people who set us apart; we love a challenge. We are stronger together, and we recognise and nurture potential to bring out the best in everyone. Join our CEO and hundreds of our employees who started out as Graduates at Turner & Townsend and start making a difference to people’s lives every day.

Please note this vacancy is only in Bristol:

Our 24-month Graduate Development Programme (GDP) provides you with a structured learning environment to help you become a well-rounded consultant and accelerate your career. You will get the opportunity to start building your internal networks, deepen your understanding of Turner & Townsend, gain knowledge of the industry and your service area from day one.

Upon joining, you will be provided with a structured development plan which introduces you to the technical and commercial competencies that graduates need to succeed at Turner & Townsend. This gives you the necessary tools to manage and monitor your personal and professional development and progress. Throughout the programme you will be partnered with a Graduate Development Manager who will provide support and guidance to ensure you are on track.

As well as ‘on-the-job' learning, you will benefit from technical and behavioural training, learning from peers and experienced professionals providing you with the knowledge and skills to support you in your personal development. Alongside this you will be given the opportunity to pursue professional qualifications with organisations such as CIPS, RICS, APM, CMI, IMEA, ICE and CIOB (depending on your technical discipline).

The world is changing, and project professionals are at the forefront of delivering positive change for people, clients, and communities. Working in Project Management or Project Controls requires you to adapt, evolve and thrive in complex environments. Now, is a fantastic time to join Turner & Townsend and transform performance for a green, inclusive, and productive world, and to help our clients meet their challenges. Our programmes provide you the opportunity to work across multiple sectors and clients to solve complex problems, while balancing cost, time, and quality.

You will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects across a variety of sectors, though you will be deployed to a specific sector team within which you will first learn the basics of delivering consultancy services. Our sectors include central and local government, health, education, natura resources, infrastructure commercial development, datacentres, offices, manufacturing, life sciences, and defence. We operate an agile model which deploys our people to those sectors where demand for services is high, recognising that different markets peak and trough at different times.

You will be working in a fast-paced environment where you could be responsible for overall project delivery, delivering on our clients commitments, developing project documentation, project schedules, reporting on project progress and managing contractual processes such as risk, change and governance.

During the 24-month programme you will have the opportunity to experience projects, programmes and portfolios at different stages in the lifecycle. Roles may vary between construction delivery, digital services, programme management, front-end business case advisory, risk management, or project controls.

You will have the opportunity to enrol on either the APM PMQ or Project Planning & Control (PPC) qualification in the second year of the programme. You will also have the option to work towards the NEC PMA upon completion of the programme, and Chartered status with the Association of Project Management (APM) after 5 years' experience.
