We are looking for a Professional Development Coordinator. The successful candidate will be able to work in the office of their choice.

The successful candidate will support the implementation of the firm's professional development projects and compliance training, while fostering a culture of continuous learning among all staff. They will also be responsible for administering the learning management system (Absorb).

Main responsibilities:

Internal workshops

  • Coordinate the logistics of training workshops: configure course settings in Absorb; prepare communications related to training workshops to be sent via Absorb or Outlook; book and arrange meeting rooms for in-person workshops; liaise with presenters and suppliers for workshop and material preparation; liaise with other business departments to ensure proper room setup for in-person and virtual training; and update the internal planning section.
  • Under the supervision of the manager, Professional Development, upload the internally recorded content to Absorb for viewing after the workshops.
  • Coordinate the logistics of webcast workshops, including obtaining budget approval from the person responsible for the practice or expertise group or the business services group.
  • Ensure that all requests sent to the team's inbox receive a prompt response and coordinate with colleagues as needed when additional clarification, knowledge, or expertise is required.
  • Supporting general practitioners, Professional Development, in the implementation of integration and professional development programs.
  • Supporting specialists, professional development in the implementation of technology training.

Administration of compliance training

  • Under the supervision of the Manager, Professional Development, ensure the maintenance of all compliance-related files in a centralized location and submit regular reports to the General Counsel, the Chief, People and Culture, the Director, People and Culture and the Director, Professional Development and Pro Bono Activities.
  • Under the supervision of the Professional Development manager, provide regular reports to managers on the progress of their direct subordinates with respect to compliance requirements.
  • Support the Professional Development manager in managing relationships with compliance-related content providers, including managing content platforms, maintaining regular communication with Customer Success managers, staying abreast of planned updates and submitting technical support requests as needed.

Training Management System (Absorb)

  • Coordinate the creation of online courses, programs, resources and other training tools in Absorb.
  • Under the supervision of the Professional Development manager, record accreditation information (PCC/FJP) and produce certificates of participation, as applicable.
  • Keep a record of attendance at live or online workshops (attendance sheets, questionnaires, reports on the use of online meetings) and verify the accuracy of attendance tracking.
  • Generate online PPC/FJP workshop participation statistics to obtain complete attendance records.
  • Produce regular automated reports on the use of Absorb and on the interest generated by the training workshops.
  • Act as a resource person for Absorb by offering support on platform setup, courses, programs and users.
  • Participate in internal and external content creation projects by providing information on Absorb's required configurations: knowledge assessment rating structure to enable data analysis in Absorb, design of preparatory and post-work in Absorb, connection between content, training path and skills.
  • Explore ways to improve efficiency and process automation in Absorb, and formulate recommendations for new or novel uses of the system.
  • Train team members and managers on the use of the system, including creating templates and documenting best practices.
  • Support the Professional Development manager in their relations with suppliers, by maintaining regular communications with the Customer Success managers, staying informed of planned updates and submitting requests for technical support, as needed.

What you will bring to Miller Thomson:

  • Diploma, certificate or degree in adult education or human resources, or two to three years of experience in a trainer position.
  • Bilingualism is an asset, as the position holder participates in the development of programs on a national scale.
  • Required experience in training management system administration.

Technical skills required: Excel (intermediate), PowerPoint (intermediate), Word (intermediate).

Understanding of the principles of adult education and their application in the workplace is an asset.

Remuneration:

We offer one of the best total compensation packages on the market, with an annual salary between $53,000 and $63,000.

The final salary will be determined based on the employee's place of work and may vary according to their qualifications, skills and market trends, while respecting internal and external standards for pay equity.
