We have a number of opportunities for Backup and Recovery Administrators with minimum 1 year of relevant experience. We provide training up to Data Storage and Storage Area Network Support Engineer.

Daily challenges:

  • Troubleshoot complex issues and provide solutions;
  • Design, innovate, deploy and follow solutions/procedures to improve working process
  • Implementing changes in the Backup environment;
  • Customer contact on the projects/tasks he/she is responsible for;
  • Availability and capacity management;
  • Create and implement service improvements;
  • Every-day learn to stay on top of the Backup and Recovery technology (access to the DXC technology training systems available).

Experience and skills required:

  • Engineer in Computer Science with at least 1 year of experience in IT area;
  • Understanding of Network Technologies and protocols – TCP/IP, VLAN, DNS, switches, firewalls, routers;
  • Knowledge and practical experience with Windows or Linux server administration;
  • Knowledge of Backup hardware (physical and disk-based Virtual Tape Library (VTL) libraries);
  • Knowledge of ITSM, ITIL or equivalent Service Management qualifications;
  • Understanding of project management methodologies and processes;
  • Any qualifications exceeding the requirements will be considered as advantage.

Backup knowledge:

  • IBM Spectrum Protect (formerly Tivoli Storage Manager); Veritas NetBackup; Micro Focus Data Protector; Dell EMC NetWorker/Avamar; Veeam Backup & Replication.
  • Knowledge with HPE StoreOnce (D2D), HP StoreEver (MSL, ESL), HP VLS 9000 Series;
  • EMC DataDomain, IBM Tape Systems;Practical experience in one or more of HPE, EMC, IBM, NetApp or equivalent enterprise class data storage arrays;
  • Good understanding of managing large Storage Area Network Fabrics and NAS / CIFS / NFS;
  • Good understanding of External Disk Arrays, RAID array controllers and their management; NAS backup and SAN zoning concept knowledge; Storage protocols SAS, Fiber Channel, SCSI, iSCSI;
  • Professional certification in any of the above technologies is considered as advantage.
