Job Description & Qualifications

This role is responsible for design and development, verification & validation, certification and integration of automated control systems which mainly comprises of sensors, actuators and electronic control circuits for EV powertrain applications. This role is important to ensure timely delivery of new projects in the fast growing and technologically dynamic Battery Electric & Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles portfolio.

Personal Profile

  • Education Qualification: BE/ B.Tech / M.Tech (Desirable) in Electronics/  Instrumentation / Mechatronics / Robotics
  • Minimum experience requirement 3 Years +
  • Preferred work experience in Automotive / Electric Vehicles
  • work experience in High Voltage system
  • Working knowledge requirement    Experience in designing automated control systems

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribution to planning:
    • Plan and finalise agreegate to be developed.
    • Requirement analysis and finalise architecture including sensing, controller and actutaor
    • Plan development steps 
    • Integration and integration testing plan
    • Plan for Testing and validation 
    • Contribute to time plan development Adherence to Quality, Cost & Time parameters at each project gateway.
  • Key actions and decisions (Long term and Short term)
    • Conceptualization and design of Mechatronics systems/products as per the requirements
    • Plan and implement the complete development life cycle management for new controls
    • Develop the validation and new test procedures for 
    • Prototype building/assembly.
    • Also responsible for validation of the same
    • Technical Documentation-Prepare and maintain necessary technical documents
    • Visit to customer site at various phases of project to address critical technical issues Adherence to Quality, Cost & Time parameters at each project gateway.
  • Nature of problems faced/ Scope of improvement opportunities
    • Benchmark data, architecture, features in automotive domain
    • Co-ordinate with hardware, power electronic team and others for requirements understanding
    • Timely completion of design, development and testing for TCDS gateways and AR gateways
  • Timely completion

Job Skills/Competencies Required

  • Competencies (Example)    Electric Vehicles powertrain automated controls system components integration
  • Preferred to have  Commercial vehicle knowledge
  • Control systems, Microcontrollers, Circuit design, Sensors and Actuators, Servo motor control, Instrumentation, Automation, and Process control
  • Knowledge of system integration
  • Knowledge of rapid prototyping techniques
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, LabVIEW, or some programming language (C or R).
  • Knowledge of system integration and assembly
  • Knowledge in selecting various electronic (ICs, power supplies, motors), mechanical (pumps and valves) and electro-mechanical components (actuators and final control elements)
  • Should be familiar with understanding datasheets, specifications and technical documentation
