About the Group and the Position

The Simulation and SW Validation Group develops, integrates and deploys simulation capabilities, interfacing with the AD SW stack, for both Software and Hardware-in-the-loop setups (SiL, HiL). Simulation is at the heart of autonomous driving (AD) development, testing, and validation. The ability to simulate the complex environment the vehicle will encounter, running simulations at scale, and making sure simulations have high fidelity compared to the real world are all critical throughout the AD product lifecycle.  Simulated scenarios drive the AD development, while metrics are used as KPIs for tracking compliance to system and safety requirements.

As the Simulation Integration Engineer, you will:

  • Gain expertise of both simulation platform and our autonomous driving system: Know the interfaces being simulated and how they affect the components receiving them, the AD system configurations and their corresponding configurations in simulation, how to debug system and root-cause problems quickly (both sim and AD system), and compute limitations, profiling the simulation platform and AD system.
  • Integrate the simulation with the AD system and with diagnosis tools.
  • Develop simulation workflows and supporting tools using Python.
  • Support of all users of simulation facing issues (SW Developers, System Engineers, Validation engineers), advise users on best practices according to their use-cases, create protocols and documentation for simulation product.
  •  Improve our product offering based on your hands-on experience.

What are we looking for?

  • B.Sc. Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or other Engineering with SW experience.
  • Experience working in Linux/cloud environments, CI/CD workflows, git or other VCS

Job Skills/Competencies Required

  • Proven coding ability (python or similar) – for analysis, visualization, triaging of system issues.
  • Good systems engineering capability and understanding.
  • Experience in software integration, working at customer sites.
  • Excellent communicator
  • Support oriented person.

Advantage:

  • Experience working on HiL or physical setups
  • M.E. in Systems Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience working on multi-disciplinary and complex systems
  • Experience in the simulation or automotive industry
