Job Description & Qualifications

The primary purpose of this unit is to help build a competitive edge for the bank by making business decision-makers: efficient, agile, and informed risk takers. It should enable them to identify and respond to business trends quickly, whether it is for understanding customer behavior or understanding key business metrics to realize new opportunities. Objective of the team should be to enable organization to leverage business intelligence to predict future performance and identify new opportunities for a product or a service.

Job Purpose :

This position is responsible for working with retail and wealth management business stakeholders to assist, identify and understand drivers, trends and risks on a near real time basis. By using tools to conduct structured and unstructured analysis, the organization can focus on prospects and drive sales and support activities which are demonstrated to add value, maximize revenue, contain risk and where appropriate, minimize costs.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Business Areas like CHS, MIS /reporting, Analysis and ensure the accuracy through effective validation and controls in place.
  • Manage stakeholder expectation by prioritizing activities from business and keeping business informed on the status of their respective requests.
  • Automate activities to the best extent possible for quicker turnarounds and minimize mistakes
  • Provide first line support of the full Business Intelligence solution. Monitor production reports and resolve issues, perform root cause analysis as needed.
  • Design product dashboards to reflect product related trends and business objectives on key KPIs for all Consumer Bank lines of business: cross-sell penetration, attrition, usage and other performance management.
  • Consult with business partners to understand business objectives and gather requirements, establish priorities and set direction in order to develop and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Develop key performance metrics such as profitability, cross sell ratios, channel usage, spends, product insights and similar decision recommendations with the objective of identifying predictable and sustainable business decision processes in all retail business bank operates.
  • Develop, review and coordinate preparation of procedures & manuals for Business Areas supported in line with the policy /compliance requirements.
  • Review and monitor compliance to the internal control systems that are in-line with Bank’s policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Decision Engineering, Database Analytics or related discipline required.
  • Must have at least 2-4 years of banking experience in MIS/BI/Incentives unit. Hands-on experience and expertise on SQL, SAS and experience in performing data integrations between warehouses/marts, financial systems, and operational systems using a combination of report tools and data interfaces.
  • Base SAS certified professional will be preferred.


Job Skills/Competencies Required

  • Advanced knowledge on Information delivery including BI/analytic reporting, operational reporting, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Dashboards, and similar tools
  • Candidates should have good Communication and Presentation skills. Ability to liaise with business teams to perform best practice in data representation and data sharing.
  • Knowledge of banking systems is a requirement along with proficiency in bank accounting principles. Demonstrated skills in data analysis.
  • Strong retail banking products knowledge preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL querying, Excel, Access.
  • Proficient on Base SAS coding and SAS Macros.
