Why this job matters
At DXC Technology Polska, we are looking for a Junior Java Developer to join our German-speaking Java team, working mainly from Wrocław, in a flexible hybrid working model.
In this role, you will support the development of customized software solutions for clients within the public, energy, automative, or other big sectors. You will work closely with experienced developers and customer architects, gaining hands-on experience in enterprise-grade Java applications within a stable, international environment.
German language skills at a minimum B2 level are required, along with good English skills.
Your responsibilities
- Supporting the implementation of software requirements in Java under guidance of senior team members
- Contributing to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of existing applications
- Collaborating with international development teams and customer stakeholders
- Assisting with technical documentation, specifications, and code comments in German and English, depending on the project context
Required skills and experience
- Knowledge of Java (Java 8 or higher) and core libraries
- Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and XML
- First experience with Spring / Spring Boot (university, internship, or private project) incl. Integration of frontends
- Familiarity with Git and simple CI/CD workflows
- Basic understanding of agile methods (Scrum/Kanban)
- Willingness to work with public‑sector processes (e.g., documentation, compliance)
- German language skills at a minimum B2 level and good English skills
- Strong motivation to learn, grow, and develop as a software developer
Nice to have (but not required)
- Interest in or basic knowledge of frameworks such as JEE, Hibernate, Spring
- Basic understanding of APIs and automated testing concepts
- First exposure to DevOps or cloud concepts
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field or
- Completed technical or vocational education in IT or
- Equivalent practical experience (e.g. internships, academic or personal projects, bootcamps)
- Willingness to continuously develop technical and language skills
