Job Description & Qualifications

This graduate with a passion for quality, and proven experience of full stack software engineering, is required for a variety of digital projects being delivered for Jaguar Land Rover in Manchester and Shanghai. We are looking for great engineers who have a passion for innovative problem solving, quality-first coding and practicing Continuous Integration.

You will form part of a collaborative, iterative and agile process within a multi-disciplined team helping deliver best in class digital solutions. This role provides a unique opportunity to help support and grow an entirely new software development capability within Jaguar Land Rover.

You will be working closely with other multi-disciplined engineers, you will be a valued member of the Global Digital Development Centre team, consistently delivering to challenging business objectives, with a focus on testability, robustness, and performance for exciting or new projects. You will work on real projects alongside experienced engineers and with constant opportunities to learn and build your new development career.

Job Skills/Competencies Required

We are keen to speak to people who also have the following background or skills:

● IT related majors such as computer science, software engineering, information technology, electronic information, communication engineering. Or anyone in other science and engineering major who is interested in software development.

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Mandarin and English

● Good mindset and logic

● Strong capability of learning

● Working under pressures.

The following skills and experience are nice to have:

● Have relevant internship or project experience.

● Strong object-oriented programming knowledge

● Experience with source code management and version control (Git/GitHub/GitLab)

● Experience with modern CI/CD tools and techniques

● Good English communication ability.

● Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as ELK, Prometheus, Grafana

● Experience with Kubernetes or other cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure)

● Experience building mobile apps using frameworks such as React Native

● Familiarity with polyglot persistence and experience with a NoSQL database engine (Mongo, Neo4j, etc)

● Experience with relational database technologies such as MySQL or similar

● Experience of practices such as Test-Driven Development and Pair Programming

● Experience with Microservices architectures, RESTful APIs and message queues

● Experience with modern web technologies such as HTML5 and CSS
