Tianjin Factory- Engineering Management Trainee

  • Two-year development project, learn and grow together with outstanding colleagues
  • Rotation in different core departments of the Sino-US SmithKline factory for 18 months
  • Rotate in other factories or supply chain departments for 6 months
  • Officially appointed in 2 years

Job requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or above, major in pharmacy, machinery, chemistry, automation, supply chain management is preferred

Job Purpose:

Be responsible for all the maintenance work of process equipment in responsible area, to ensure all the equipment works in good condition

Responsible for the implementation of the repair and maintenance of the process pharmaceutical equipment within the jurisdiction to achieve the best operating condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete daily checking of process equipment, remove potential mechanical failure and make record
  • Develop and investigate new equipment and improve the production capacity of equipment to ensure that the products are put into production as planned.
  • Responsible for compiling, modifying, and completing the preventive maintenance work instructions of the process equipment under its jurisdiction, reducing the failure rate and ensuring the long-term stable operation of the equipment. And make corresponding records.
  • Actively participate in and organize the improvement activities, to improve the process capability of the equipment.
  • Responsible for the organization, implementation and verification of production equipment related projects to ensure the stability of the quality and the completion of the budget within the planned time.
  • Quickly repair the failure of the production process equipment and restore the original performance of the equipment to achieve the purpose of quickly resuming production.
  • Provide spare part plan for process equipment, rationalize spare part inventory
  • Organize and participate in the annual equipment overhaul and equipment improvement work to keep the equipment in its best condition.
  • Provide technical support and training for other related personnel.
  • Use OE tools to continuously improve, improve work efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Understand and comply with the applicable local regulations of Quality, EHS and others,  GSK standards for QMS, EHSS etc. and company policy. Adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Other projects and tasks arranged by the line manager.

Accountability responsibilities:

Budget Control:

  • Ensure the maintenance and other cost within the budget.

Work Field: (please briefly describe the department, function, region, etc. that the position is responsible for)

  • Responsible for the normal operation, effectiveness and integrity of production process equipment and facilities to meet production requirements.

Impact & Risk:

  • Fully accountable for ensuring that in charge of  production equipment maintenance is performed in accordance with GMP and non-GMP requirements and maintenance activities for production equipment does not pose a risk to operations at TSKF. 


  • Good capability for the independent judgment and problem solving. Decision Making for the equipment maintenance plan, the equipment improvement plan. Communicate with the manager about cross function cooperation work. 


  • All technological transformations and projects must be strictly reviewed to confirm whether the relevant regulations of GMP and EHS are implemented
  • The analysis of the relevant parameters of the annual production equipment status assessment and verification documents.

Communication Complexity

  • It is necessary to work closely with multiple internal and external departments to ensure the normal production of the company.

Specialised Knowledge:

  • Bachelor or above major in mechanical and electrical integration
  • Good profesional experience mechanical and electrical.

Job Skills/Competencies Required

  • Basic English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
  • Familiar with computer and office software.
  • Ability to solve complicated technical problems
  • Strong communication and coordination skill
