  • Responsible for supporting the BMSL Commercial team to manage the daily trading and commercial activities related to both Precious and Base Metals.
  • Provide support in maintaining relationships with customers, relevant partners
  • Provides support to maintain both internal and external systems on time
  • Works with the BASF China Production, Supply Chain, and Operation teams to support the China production plan and shipping arrangements, ensuring supply chain security
  • Prepares and maintains timely documentation for internal/external needs, while ensuring the standardization of basic external purchase /sales documents.
  • Supports the Commercial Team with periodic data analysis and market research

Main Tasks:

  • Support the commercial team for regular customer demands - order bookings, daily order price calculations – in accordance with BSML sales order processing flow.
  • Twice daily release of the CNY/USD conversion rate to customers.
  • Supports the daily Fx/ position report review, interacting closely with the Trading / Ops / Finance teams for daily tasks.
  • Supports the maintenance of the physical stock review sheet, reviews the physical stock and production forecast, and the metal priced quantities.   Monitors customs regimes and/or BACH/Union inventory arrangement, holiday arrangements, plus any other inputs that may impact routine shipping or production plans.
  • Communicates with suppliers and BASF Plant / Operation teams to manage and coordinate supplier metal deliveries based on the plant production plan.
  • Analyzes the relationship between customer metal pricing demand, metal physical demand, and metal solution demand for commercial proposals
  • Updates the external systems as necessary, including Customer system. e.g. customer quotation system, customer supply system, EHS Risk Management System etc;   Inputs data, checks, and maintains data integrity in internal trading systems.
  • Responsible for the management, classification, sorting, filing and custody of the company's sales/purchase contracts and other commercial documents.
  • Supports the commercial team to manage the CCM credit application process, including AML, for any new or existing business counterparties.   Monitor credit exposure and manage credit risk of relevant counterparties on a daily basis.
  • Support the Commercial team in daily management of metal and FX exposure.
  • Occasionally, work with the CCM Trading teams in different regions for metals hedging, FX hedging
  • Responsible for visitor registration and travel arrangements as required


  • Education: Academic credentials with a bachelor's degree.
  • Working Experience: Fresh graduates.   Relevant experience in commercial roles is preferred

Job Skills/Competencies Required

  • Some level of proficiency in English.  
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint needed, with the analytical skills a plus.
  • Must have the ability to work independently with general guidance.
