We are looking for a customer-focused, team player with banking experience for a full-time Mortgage Solutions Specialist position.

As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate a superior commitment to meeting customer needs by providing prompt, accurate service and processing of existing clients requesting changes to their mortgage product, such as; Mortgage Product Changes, Account Holder Changes (including separations), Limit Decreases, etc. This position plays an important role in the establishment and maintenance of a strong customer relationship that supports the business’s client retention strategies.

Hours of Operation (subject to change): Monday to Friday 9am-5pm AST or EST, depending on location

Key Accountabilities:

  • Communicate with existing clients via phone and e-mail who request to make complex changes to their mortgage
  • Request and review supporting documentation from clients to ensure they comply with the residential underwriting standards and Manulife Bank’s policies.
  • Build and maintain a strong mortgage industry awareness in current rules and regulations along with broader perspective on competing products
  • Manage high volume of complex files, quickly understanding the customer’s concern pertaining to their mortgage and responding with suggested proper account structure to ensure it meet client’s current and anticipated needs
  • Work in partnership with the Bank Sales team in support of the client; their advisor and other distributor relationships
  • Ensure that all data and notes are clearly and accurately entered into internal systems
  • Provide clients with timely updates on the status of their file

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in the residential mortgage business and mortgage underwriting practices

Job Skills/Competencies Required

  • Strong knowledge of residential mortgage business, including approval, title and funding stages; as well as mortgage terms, fees and rates
  • Superior listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to positively influence and negotiate
  • Excellent organizational / prioritization skills and time management to successfully support high volumes in a rapidly changing work environment
  • Demonstrated professionalism and judgment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • In depth understanding of Manulife Bank’s products, processes and systems would be an asset
  • Sales background would be beneficial
  • Proficient computer and keyboarding skills
  • Bilingual (English & French) an asset
