Legal Assistant, Real Estate
Job Description & Qualifications
Our Vancouver office is currently recruiting for a Legal Assistant to join our busy Real Estate Practice Group. This position will appeal to candidates looking to join a firm with an energetic office culture, in an exciting and challenging position.
Key Responsibilities
- New file opening;
- Preparation of all documentation relating to transactions using BC Online;
- Working with MyLTSA;
- Preparing purchase, sale, and refinance documents
- Reviewing contracts, financing documents, lease and land title documents
- Conducting due diligence searches
- Dealing with various commercial real estate transactions;
- File documents in Land Title Office (online);
- Maintain client contact ensuring fast turnaround;
- Managing volumes of filing and file organization, electronic and paper;
- Audits and conflicts searches
- Expense requisitions; and
- Other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
- A minimum of 1-3 years’ of relevant real estate experience;
- Graduate of a recognized legal administrative program;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Excellent proofreading skills (ability to check typed material for grammatical, typographical, spelling, word usage and format errors);
- Excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to take initiative;
- Positive attitude and detail-oriented;
- Problem solving with minimal supervision;
- Handling and prioritizing workload independently;
- Meeting strict deadlines; and
- Communicating in a professional manner with lawyers and other team members.
