In anticipation of future project demands, WSP invites Junior Bridge Engineers to apply, for our Edmonton office. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team active on several exciting bridge projects throughout Alberta. Duties will include planning, design, estimating, tendering, construction administration, and closeout of bridge projects.  

Your responsibilities will include preparation of designs, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents as well as participating in scheduling, budgeting, tendering, contract administration and inspection. The ideal candidate, is an excellent communicator with effective organizational skills and leadership potential, who thrives in a dynamic work environment. Your abilities will be strengthened and grown through a range of projects focused on the delivery and management of bridge projects in Alberta. You will also have the opportunity to develop a career path focused on technical leadership, project management, client management, or a combination based on your career aspirations and qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil or Structural engineering from an accredited university; Post-graduate degree in structural engineering is an asset.
  • Registered as an Engineer-in-Training with APEGA. P.Eng. is an asset.
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in structural engineering within the consulting industry including designs of standard bridges and culverts.


Job Skills/Competencies Required

  • Related experience with Alberta Transportation and City of Edmonton design and construction specification is an asset.
  • Superior planning and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills. 
  • Committed team player and highly self-motivated.
  • Valid Alberta driver’s licence - this position will require occasional travel.
