Overview

We are currently seeking an Investment Policy Analyst (12 month contract) to join our Private Client Investment Policy team. In this role, the successful candidate is expected to provide prompt and courteous service to our internal and external partners, which includes our Investment Counselors, Financial Advisors and their Assistants. Primary duties include generating financial trade instructions related to a client’s Investment Policy (IP) with the utmost accuracy, investigating IP trade-related issues in a timely manner, coordinating complicated requests with various parties and implementing asset mixes. Our team takes great pride in providing high quality work and service for our high net worth clientele.

What you will do

  • Produce accurate manual asset allocation instructions (investments, redemptions, switches/transfers and rebalancing activities) according to our established portfolio optimization methodologies for clients under the CI Assante Private Client and CI Private Wealth platforms.
  • Coordinate and assist Investment Counsellors and internal departments with the implementation of our Pool & Segregated models, and ensuring investments are done accurately as per the client(s) intention/risk profile/IPS while following internal rules and guidelines.
  • Investigate investment-related requests, analyze, make recommendations and implement the best-possible agreed-upon solution for the client in a timely manner.
  • Provide portfolio market value and cost analyses where required for LOI/Adjustment requests. Exercise creative thinking to resolve issues when certain unique situations fall outside of the norm.
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to Financial Advisors, Investment Counsellors, Client Service, Compliance and other internal departments via phone and email on trade-related requests at the IP level
  • Review daily integrity reports and support team with quality control efforts.

What you will bring

  • Post-secondary education in Business or a related discipline
  • 2+ years experience within the financial services industry, with knowledge of mutual funds and securities such as stocks, bonds, derivatives, GIC’s, ETF’s, etc.
  • Related industry courses (CFA, CIM, CSC, etc.) is a definite asset
  • Familiarity with investment management philosophies
  • Strong analytical, organizational, time management, customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal), combined with a high accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure with demanding workloads and under minimal supervision
  • Advanced Knowledge in Microsoft Excel (e.g. macros)
