We are currently seeking an Internal Wholesaler who is professional, coachable and accountable to join our Sales team in Montréal. In this role, the successful candidate will work in partnership with the VP, Sales and Sales Associate to identify, develop, and strengthen advisor relationships within a specific territory to achieve significant net sales.     

This role will have a specific focus on significant and proactive territory prospecting, while maintaining existing advisor relationships, in partnership with the VP, Sales and Sales Associate.

What you will do   

  • Perform pro-active call and sales campaigns to promote CI Investments’ product offerings to existing and potential clients   
  • Generating referrals for your respective wholesalers   
  • Respond to inquiries on products, fund management strategies, portfolio manager philosophies/processes/styles and industry trends   
  • Develop sales campaigns and assist in delivery of sales presentations, in partnership with VP, Sales and Sales Associate   
  • Provide sales strategies, concepts, marketing ideas and support to financial advisors, in collaboration with VP, Sales and Sales Associate   
  • Proactively prospect/identify financial advisors who are interested in CI Investment funds and are open to incorporating CI funds into their book of business; internal wholesalers will be required to understand the goals, expectations and needs of advisors by utilizing a consultative, question based sales process   
  • Book meetings for the VP, Sales with qualified advisors who are interested in incorporating CI investment solutions into investor portfolios   
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of CI funds, market trends, advisor trends and investor trends   
  • Work closely with and support efforts of other team members   
  • Act as a sales resource for the VP, Sales during vacation and other absences   
  • Updating daily call activities and maintaining accurate advisor records within Salesforce on a timely basis   
  • Achieving annual activity productivity targets in the areas of: proactive calls, Know Your Advisor information and meetings booked as set by the Sales Management team

What you will bring    

  • Minimum 2 years financial services industry experience in a sales capacity   
  • University degree in Business Administration   
  • Financial services designations (e.g. CSC, CFP, CIM, CFA).   

Working conditions   

  • Ability to thrive in a high energy, performance and metric oriented, team based sales environment   
  • May require attending marketing functions and activities which extend beyond normal office hours   
  • Limited travel may also be required

Job Skills/Competencies Required

  • Securities, mutual fund products, and investment industry experience an asset   
  • Advanced expertise in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)   
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in managing relationships with clients   
  • Strong time management and organization skills with the ability to meet deadlines   
  • Resourcefulness and creative problem-solving skills to provide effective solutions for clients   
  • Proven ability to take initiative, display professionalism and positively collaborate within the territory team and within CI Investments   
  • Ability to thrive in a face paced, metric oriented, performance oriented, team based sales environment   
  • Must be fluently bilingual in English and French
