The Opportunity:

WSP Golder is seeking an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our Prairies & North Geotechnical Engineering & Laboratory Group in WSP Golder’s Edmonton office on a full-time basis. The roles and responsibilities will entail a combination of technical work and involvement in developing our geotechnical engineering business including proposal writing, and client development.

A day in the life:

  • Provide technical support in geotechnical projects including field investigation, laboratory testing and interpretation; design and construction; and geotechnical analysis 
  • Complete geotechnical analyses including bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability and seepage under the direction and supervision of intermediate and senior engineers
  • Complete geotechnical investigations including test pitting, drilling, and cone penetration tests
  • Complete construction inspection and material testing including bearing soil review, pile inspection, compaction testing, and concrete testing
  • Complete soil laboratory testing
  • Contribute to sections of technical reporting under the direction and supervision of intermediate and senior engineers 
  • Participate in and promote a safety-first culture

We'd love to hear from you if you have ...

  • 0 to 2 years of relevant (post-degree) experience working in a consulting engineering environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Geological Engineering
  • Currently registered as an E.I.T. in Alberta
