WSP is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our  Mechanical & Electrical Department , located at our Victoria  office. Reporting to the  Manager, M&E  this position will be responsible for design, tender and construction services for a variety of large and small projects that are local, regional and national.

A day in the life:

  • Electrical design of systems related to highway and roadway lighting, signaling, signage, intersections, exterior site and building lighting, weigh scales, and related facilities
  • Technical calculations and software use (AGi32) for detailed lighting results, load calculations, lighting layouts
  • On site electrical research, construction audits, field reviews
  • Writing detailed and concise technical reports, detailed lighting warrant results, feasibility studies, proposals, including written responses and instructions as required during all project phases
  • Conducting all tasks in cooperation with internal and external clients and other engineering disciplines
  • Working closely and helpfully with other team members in the group
  • Creating, managing and enhancing client relationships

Job Skills/Competencies Required

  • Experience designing electrical systems related to highway and roadway lighting, signaling, signage, intersections, exterior site and building lighting, weigh scales, and related facilities
  • Experience creating tender document packages with drawings and specifications
  • Experience in other electrical sectors (Commercial, Institutional, Healthcare, Industrial, Infrastructure)
  • Good initiative, a “can-do” attitude, and attention to detail
