We are currently seeking an Associate to join our Corporate Finance team.  Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Finance, the successful candidate will support the team with M&A related due diligence and modeling, and prepare analyses for senior management.  Our team takes great pride in providing actionable recommendations in a timely manner as markets and competitive dynamics evolve.

What you will do

  • Participate in corporate development and M&A processes, including financial due diligence, modelling, valuation, and presentation preparation 
  • Present findings and analyses for senior management
  • Assist with analysis and preparation of KPIs for management reporting
  • Contribute to preparation of quarterly reporting materials
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects, documentation, presentations and initiatives as assigned

What you will bring

  • Undergraduate degree in business/finance/accounting
  • CFA or CPA designation (completed or in progress)
  • Minimum 1-2 years relevant work experience in the wealth management or asset management industry, or at least 2 years in investment banking, as a financial analyst/associate or equivalent role

Job Skills/Competencies Required

  • Fluent in finance and accounting concepts and financial modelling, with an understanding of economic factors affecting valuation
  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance and capital markets
  • Ability to create, update, and manage financial models and value companies independently and communicate findings clearly and concisely
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage conflicting priorities
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including comfort and confidence interacting with and presenting to senior management and executives
  • Strong work ethic, ability to learn and work independently as well as part of a team
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience with other Microsoft Office products.  Experience with Excel Macros and VBA coding preferred
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg terminal and functions an asset
