Job Description & Qualifications

Real Estate Accounting is looking for an Accounts Payable Analyst (Senior Vendor Analyst) to join our team. The Accounts Payable Analyst will work in a fast paced/high volume environment and will be responsible for: processing accounts payable invoices and IR requests, responsible to ensure that payments are dispersed per vendor and company terms. The ideal candidate would have 2+ years of experience in an Accounts Payable Analyst role performing the following: high volume accounts payable, coding, and committing payments, reconciliations, and vendor management.

Responsibilities:

  • Detailing the policies and procedures surrounding accounts payable for Manulife Real Estate’s portfolio, including vendor management, compliance and payment guidelines
  • Reviewing information and supporting documents to ensure all vendors meet Manulife/John Hancock compliance standards
  • Main point of contact for all Manulife/John Hancock Real Estate payables related inquires
  • Annual 1099 Reporting
  • Researching and resolving issues related to the payment of invoices
  • Onboarding and enrolling of new properties to be set up with the Yardi Utility Energy Management team to have utility invoices processed in a timely manner and track monthly consumption (this includes the recent addition of approximately 140 new properties)
  • Assist with both external and internal audits

What we are looking for

  • University degree or equivalent experience in accounting
  • 2 + years accounting experience
  • Knowledgeable in Yardi Voyager 7s an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Must be highly motivated and detailed orientated
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
