‚ÄčResponsibilities

The role of the Senior Associate is to actively execute 360 content strategic planning and innovation for the Korean Business Division. Reporting to AVP of International Business who manages the overall portfolio covering all Korean brands- from innovation, strategy, content planning and curation for both On Demand and linear & OTT content brands with the aim to deliver the best in class pay tv service with best customer experience, increase and sustain customers’ subscription, and improve profitability and revenues (subscription and ad sales).

Responsibilities include:

Brand Management

  • Key custodian for all Five (5) Korean channels on Astro – KBS, ONE, K Plus, TVN and TVN Movies. Including content planning and scheduling to communications plan, with general KPI in mind to increase ARPU/ customer base/ channel or content performance
  • Stakeholder management which includes International Distributors, Marketing & Comms Team, Customer Team, OD Team, Content Services and Legal.
  • To establish good relationship with international channel partners; and execute overall channel operations (work hand-in-hand with Operations team), ensuring localisation of content brands on On Demand, linear and OTT  i.e metadata, subtitling, dubbing, updating EPG, overall presentation and material deliveries are done in timely manner, to maximise customer experience in discovering and consuming content on Astro services. To also oversee local content or promotional opportunities initiated by content partners, to ensure it is relevant for local customers.
  • To support effective ATL & BTL communication and marketing/ promotional plans with AVP, Marketing team, Promo team, internal and external stakeholders to achieve respective KPIs- achieve brand awareness/ downloads/ ratings/ increase subscription and revenues.
  • Analysis of target audience, market needs and identifying possible solutions / best practices regionally and globally to address the Korean inclined audience to drive pack take up, revenue and customer numbers
  • Develop reports incorporating quantitative and qualitative analysis, charts and tables to unveil trends and illustrate findings and recommendations to grow the Korean space

Content Acquisition and Curation

  • Identify must-have content properties to be acquired and curated to drive linear ratings, channel share and OD viewership
  • Initiate content curation for On Demand, linear & OTT to enhance customer experience in consuming content.
  • Coordinate channel’s programme promotions which includes driving programme awareness among subscribers, non-subscribers; encompassing on-air, on-ground, on-line and other relevant touch points
  • Primary liaison for content priorities on linear and on demand, ensures all marketing, communications and promotions initiatives are align with strategic brand direction
  • Support internal and external partners to ensure marketing and promotional initiatives are executed in an efficient and effective way.

Revenue Generation

  • Preparation of impactful and effective monetization proposals (360 planning)
  • New innovation in the Korean content space that could be a revenue driver or rewards for customers

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Broadcasting or Marketing.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills both verbal & written (Malay & English).
  • Must be able to work in fast paced environment and perform multiple tasks.
  • Good time management skills and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously by maintaining professionalism and work ethic.
  • Highly developed problem-solving skills.
  • Good in presentation and organizational skills, with good level of attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint & Excel).
  • Able to perform effectively under minimal supervision and displaying high leadership skills.
  • Passionate in learning and a fast-learner.
