Job Description & Qualifications

This role provides engineering support for heat treatment and Brazing processes including vacuum and atmospheric heat treatment, Activated Diffusion healing and fluoride ion Clean/stripping for the repair of aircraft engine components. The special process engineer shall troubleshoot issues that arise in day-to-day operations, implement process improvements and introduce new processes

Essential Responsibilities:

The Special Process Engineer (Brazing) is responsible for ensuring that heat treatment and coating processes meet quality requirements and operational objectives at GEAES Singapore. This will include:

  • Generating work instructions and operating procedures for furnaces and coating preparation and application.
  • Implementing new coating processes in collaboration with product engineers and repair development engineers.
  • Ensuring that all heat treatment and coating processes comply with quality requirements, conduct investigations and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Working with operations to improve furnace utilization and labour efficiency and reduce operating costs.
  • Working with operations and maintenance personnel to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Preparing technical specifications for the purchase and upgrading of heat treatment and coating equipment.
  • Conducting Risk Assessments and ensure that heat treat, and coating processes are operated in compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety Regulations and Policies.
  • Conduct buy-off, machine qualification and process substantiation. 
  • Training for special process technicians

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science
  • 2+ years’ experience in the aerospace, Brazing or materials processing industry
  • Experience in an Aerospace Manufacturing/MRO environment would be an added advantage
