Job Description & Qualifications

As a Due Diligence Analyst, you will be responsible for researching the required information on counterparties to perform a risk assessment and make a recommendation on their suitability to do business with Shell Trading & Supply. Your research will focus on the counterparties geographical presence, industry, products traded, political status, and reputation.

Accountabilities

  • Undertake basic, standard and shipping customer due diligence to make recommendation on the suitability of business relationships
  • Liaise with external counterparties to collate required company information/documentation
  • Analyse and verify evidence collated during the customer due diligence process to ensure authenticity
  • Collaborate with commercial and functional stakeholders to enhance their understanding of the financial crime on-boarding requirements to raise the profile of the financial crime team and ensure the smooth onboarding of new and existing customers.
  • Prepare customer due diligence review files and ensure all internal and regulatory records management standards are adhered to.
  • Develop an understanding of the Trading & Supply financial crime systems and controls including a working knowledge of the Compliance, Financial Crime and ABC manuals.
  • Advise internal and external stakeholders on customer due diligence requirements in a timely fashion.

Shell Trading & Supply is a fully integrated business designed to create and capture end to end value for Downstream with a global portfolio covering global crude trading & supply, products trading & supply, natural gas, power, emissions and LNG.
The Financial Crime Team receives in excess of 10,000 CDD request annually and performs ongoing monitoring of over 30,000 counterparties currently covering 21 Shell Trading locations, 9 business including 2 financially regulated entities.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2-3 years AML/financial crime Compliance experience in wholesale banking or commodities trading

This role will require you to undertake a specialist financial crime qualification as part of your learning development plan.

Job Skills/Competencies Required

  • Experience in research related discipline.
  • A desire to persue a financial crime compliance career
  • Second language (Spanish, French, German, Russian, Mandarin) is advantageous.

  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent PC skills required. Ability to learn specific applications as needed
