We’re looking for a talented Junior Multimedia/Digital Designer to join our Creative Services team. The role largely entails supporting the delivery of the Africa market leadership strategy and business objective through creative design that accurately reflects the firm’s brand and corporate identity. The successful candidate will form part of the Creative Services team and be required to assist in the production of visual solutions and creative design concepts that meet the needs of both external and internal clients. You will help deliver assets that make our products and services understandable and attractive to users. This would include but is not limited to, multimedia; motion graphics; animation; production and editing (Videos & Voiceovers); and marketing materials as needed.

Key activities

  • Leadership
  • Strategic support in terms of motion graphics/ animation, video production and editing, creative design and approach to the business leaders and managers involved in projects allocated to the designer
  • Actively contribute to driving and leading innovation in specialisation areas such as motion design and production, including videography from production to final design
  • Proactively share ideas with the Africa Pursuits, Brand, Marketing and Communication team
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors that will assist the firm in achieving its objectives
  • Proactively contribute to the firm’s culture of high performing teams.

The key areas of accountability include:

Quality – Adherence to agreed branding/design initiatives. Deliver and maintain a consistently high standard of quality. Apply innovative thinking to design problems to present the best possible solution to the business.

Market Leadership – Ongoing support and communication to the firm on our design standards. Support the firm’s strategy and contribute towards consistent execution of brand strategy.

People – Develop and maintain relationships with all clients. Provide continual support and ideas. Synergistic approach and interaction within Creative Services team and customers. Be a valued member of the Markets & Business Development team and support their initiatives.

Operational excellence – Conceptualise, create storyboards, design/illustrate, develop motion graphic animations, production and editing (Videos & Voiceovers).

Responsibilities

  • Understand project requirements and specifications
  • Conceptualise, create storyboards, design/illustrate and develop motion graphics and animations
  • Planning and producing video shoots and voice overs
  • Motion graphics compositing and edit video footage
  • Work with voice-overs and sound effects to enhance video productions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in multimedia, visual design, graphic design, digital design or any other relevant field
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite: After Effects, Premier Pro, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Audition
  • 2-3 years multimedia/digital design experience, preferably within an agency
  • Proven experience in motion graphic/animation and video production (Camera work & editing)
  • Portfolio of evidence of video and design work
