Job Description & Qualifications

The in market Demand Planning Analyst is responsible for analysing all data integrity activities including understanding the statistical forecast generated by the above market Demand Planner in service of providing better insights for the in market S&OP Process. They will collaborate with demand planners on history adjustments to drive robust statistical forecasts.   They will support the above market function by coordinating and consolidating the weekly Tier 3 and Tier 4 and Tier 5 weekly and monthly decks to enable an effective meeting structured around decision making. They will coordinate the weekly S&OE meeting preparation in collaboration with the Commercial department which will facilitate more proactive management of short-term risks. In addition to this the analyst will coordinate and work closely with the Logistics Department on the customer collaboration project including providing guidance and insights for improvements of weekly forecast at customer level.

The analyst will also be required to provide the required analytical support required for the monthly One Plan process i.e Market share trends, Portfolio Analysis by customer and Depletion forecast modelling.

Purpose of Role

The Demand Planning Analyst is responsible for understanding the  SAP APO statistical forecasting generated by the central demand planner and data integrity activities. They will collaborate with demand planners on history adjustments to drive robust statistical forecasts.   Responsible for data integrity of SAP APO system. Demand Planning Analyst is responsible for updating Tier and S&OE meeting information and providing analysis on process effectiveness.

The Demand Planning analyst will be responsible for attending the weekly customer collaboration meetings in addition to analysing the weekly forecast provided by the respective customers in addition to providing insights on areas of improvement in order for integration into the weekly S&OE meeting.

Top Accountabilities:

Understand the statistical demand forecast generated by the above market demand planner for at least 18 months rolling:

  • Pro-actively works with the central Demand Planner, Demand Planning Manager and the DP Business Partner, owning the statistical forecast and highlighting deviations to the shipment and/or depletion trends.
  • Use and maintain the APO software as the primary forecasting system tool
  • Collaborate with DP Business Partner on all forecast history cleaning activities including documenting adjustments and assumptions (market trends, seasonality, promotions).
  • Provide reports and insights to stakeholders to maximize the use of baseline forecast.

Customer Collaboration

  • Analyzing weekly customer forecast in collaboration with Customer Collaboration Manger.
  • Attend weekly customer collaboration meetings with customer Demand Planners.
  • Calculate and provide insights to improve weekly customer forecast accuracy with a long term view in integrating data into weekly S&OE process.

Provide key input to S&OP/IBP process

  • Create the weekly Tier 3, Tier 4 and Tier 5 (weekly and monthly) decks including updating the Tier 5 in market boards.
  • Create the weekly S&OE meeting decks as well as coordinating inputs required for the meeting in collaboration with the Supply and Commercial teams
  • Update Tier KPI slides on weekly and monthly basis for assigned markets
  • Collaborate with Demand Business Partners to conduct root cause analysis to identify drivers of forecast error and work together to take the necessary corrective action to drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy and bias performance.
  • Collaborate with in market IBP Leads on SIT data consolidation and depletion forecasting enabling improved accuracy and market insight.

Qualifications and Experience Required


  • 2  years’ experience working within the Demand and/or Supply Chain Planning process; Consumer Packaged Goods Industry preferred
  • Experience with advanced planning software with Supply Planning (SAP APO system and Business Intelligence/BW ) would be advantageous


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in appropriate supply chain, mathematical, engineering, or business degree.
  • APICS CPIM / CSCP or equivalent desirable.

Job Skills/Competencies Required

  • Baseline understanding of the end-to-end Supply Chain Planning processes; Supply Planning, Distribution Requirements Planning, Inventory Planning, Conversion, Logistics, Procurement and Customer Service
  • Strong analytical, organizational and decision making skills
  • Good communication skills – verbal, written and presentation.
  • Proficient in MS applications e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook
