What do you like most about your job?

I'm really enjoying to be engaging with people across the company for various inquiries. HR coordinator is a key role as it’s kind of like the engine oil that keeps things running smoothly. I work in a very busy environment which is a key motivator for me.

How did your course help you to get this job?

The course was very well designed to give me all the theoretical knowledge to become a HR professional. I have taken modules such as change and reward management, culture and behaviour, learning and development and number of other modules which are the essential aspects of HR. I'm currently an Associate Member of the CIPD and my level 7 qualification enables to raise my profile within the people profession and helps to open the door to new job opportunities. It establishes my credibility and knowledge as a professional.

What key advice would you give to current international students looking to start a career in the UK?

As a person who has gone through the job hunting myself, I'm very well aware that it might get overwhelming and it's very easy to get discouraged with all the rejection emails. I got one rejection after another for a few months until I finally got one yes, and that's all that matters. My advise would be to keep looking and applying for the positions you think your experiences and qualifications are
suitable for. If possible, seek CV and interview advise from your university's career hub. It is time consuming but remember, this is also part of the journey. I always asked for feedback after every rejection which helped me improve my CV and job search at the end.
