Please give a brief description of your job and what it involves

I′m on the graduate scheme with KPMG. My role is to advise big businesses on how to navigate difficult areas like Brexit, changing regulations, and public opinion. I′m also training to be a chartered accountant.

What key advice would you give to current students who would like to get into a similar job to you?

Don′t worry if your plans aren′t working out, it takes a while to find out what you want to do and what you′re good at. Research more than just the company, find out what its employees think. There′s lots of employers for every role so loads of choice to find the right fit for you.

Why do you think you got this job e.g. what skills/knowledge/experience etc.

Being good with people, able to explain complicated things in simple language, and a basic (I promise!) grasp of maths.

Please feel free to add anything else that you think would be useful:

Your life isn′t decided at 18, 19, or 20. Your life isn′t decided at 30, 40, or 50. Try lots of things and go for what makes you happy, whether your priority is loving your job, making lots of money, or having the time and flexibility to pursue non work activities. And don′t worry if what makes you happy changes!
