The company specializes in the overhaul and maintenance of Airbus A320 family, Boeing 737 Classic and NG aircraft series. The service spectrum reaches from line maintenance to IL-/D-Checks and includes a full range of additional services such as aircraft painting, special interior works and AOG support.

About 1 100 highly qualified staff work for the German-Bulgarian joint venture in a site that extends over a total area of 50,000 square meters. The company is residing at Sofia airport, which is upgraded to the latest technological standards, incorporating Lean principles. The modern facility can accommodate and service five narrowbody aircraft for base maintenance simultaneously and one aircraft in a nose-in position for services such as cabin modifications. In addition, two of the bays have full paint capability. Extensive workshops allow Lufthansa Technik Sofia to perform all base maintenance related work in-house or in close cooperation with other facilities in the Lufthansa Technik Group. The company operates under the EASA Part 145 approval of the Lufthansa Technik Group and is certified according to ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and EN9110 standards. The product portfolio of Lufthansa Technik Sofia is growing continuously to meet market demands and satisfy the needs of its customers. Succeeding in reducing turnaround times with every check and delivering high quality, Lufthansa Technik Sofia’s performance is on track to achieve its overall goal – to become the “best in class†for narrowbody aircraft MRO in Europe.

Lufthansa Technik Sofia has become the strategic first choice for off-shored administrative services. Here are based one of the group’s major central departments, e.g. Planning & Engineering, Logistics and IT, providing services to our bases in Budapest, Malta, Shannon, Hamburg and Puerto Rico.
