Lufthansa Technik Sofia State-of-the-art aircraft overhauls in Eastern Europe Lufthansa Technik Sofia was founded in late 2007 as a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik (75.1 percent) and the Bulgarian Airways Group (24.9 percent). The company specializes in the overhaul and maintenance of Airbus A320 family, Boeing 737 Classic and NG aircraft series. The service spectrum reaches from line maintenance to IL-/D-Checks and includes a full range of additional services such as aircraft painting, special interior works and AOG support.

About 1 100 highly qualified staff work for the German-Bulgarian joint venture in a site that extends over a total area of 50,000 square meters. The geographic location of the facility is ideal to serve customers in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, and represents an excellent basis for a highly competitive price-performance ratio. The company is residing at Sofia airport, which is upgraded to the latest technological standards, incorporating Lean principles. The modern facility can accommodate and service five narrowbody aircraft for base maintenance simultaneously and one aircraft in a nose-in position for services such as cabin modifications. In addition, two of the bays have full paint capability. Extensive workshops allow Lufthansa Technik Sofia to perform all base maintenance related work in-house or in close cooperation with other facilities in the Lufthansa Technik Group. The company operates under the EASA Part 145 approval of the Lufthansa Technik Group and is certified according to ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and EN9110 standards. The product portfolio of Lufthansa Technik Sofia is growing continuously to meet market demands and satisfy the needs of its customers. Lufthansa Technik Sofia performs heavy maintenance checks on the Airbus A320 family and Boeing B737 including B737 Classic and B737 NG. The company is situated at Sofia airport and operates since October 2008. 

Our department Material Flow Management (MFM) provides logistic services for the airplane maintenance and component supply for the entire LHT Group and its customers. Amongst others, this includes designing processes and implementation of process optimizations for established customers.

In MFM process improvement team we offer you the chance to experience the aviation sector and its logistic business as part of an international and young team, working on conceptual projects and support of the day-to-day operations.

Your daily tasks and projects may include the following:

-   Support team leaders and process engineers in enhancing the efficiency of our logistic processes, analyzing requests as well as working out and realizing needs-oriented solutions; 
-   Support project managers in planning and scheduling of project tasks;
-   Support the system implementation of the new flow management software of the company with related tasks;
-   Prepare and analyze team performance reports and analyses;
-   Coordination with our global facilities and teams;
-   Visual reporting with Microsoft Applications;
-   Assist and support for the department in meeting our goals.

What we offer you:

Your profile:

-   Advanced students in (business) engineering, economic sciences or business informatics with a focus on logistics and Supply Chain;

-   Profound user know-how MS Office applications (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint), readiness to understand VBA;
-   Strong interest in digitalization and automatization;
-   Experience in project management is an advantage;
-   Excellent interpersonal communication skills;
-   Fluency in English required, German and Bulgarian are a plus;
-   Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy, independence and self-organization;
-   Excellent analytical, creative and administrative skills as well as team orientation.

• Planning of aircraft maintenance events
• Preparation of manhour load and capacity plans
• Target setting to the maintenance organization
• Evaluation of customer workpackage in terms of man-hour and Turn-around time (TAT) forecasting
• Project preparation management - close interaction with Operators, Sales, Production and Engineering
• Development and preparation of project plans, critical path and critical tasks analysis
• Quotation/evaluation of customer requests
• Preparation, customization and revision of work documents for production
• Preparation of analysis and reports
• Performance dialogue within the project team

Your profile

To be successful with the role you need to have:

• University degree in mechanical, electrical, aircraft engineering or industrial management
• Excellent analytical skills, communicative, methodical and well organized
• Good PC skills of Microsoft Office applications
• Experience in airworthiness management or planning of aircraft base maintenance is beneficial, but not mandatory
• Be fluent in English
• Be team orientated

-    Full support in front of local authorities (e.g. police, ministries, etc.)
