Intel's Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) IP Engineering team (PIPE) develops comprehensive solutions to provide customers easy and efficient access to the capabilities of Intel's FPGA devices. These solutions are provided as highly-configurable intellectual property IP cores that are fully integrated with Intel PSG's software CAD tool, Quartus II.

External Memory Interfaces/Product Manufacturing Engineering Team

FPGAs have evolved over the years from a simple piece of glue logic to complex computing engines, capable of moving, storing and processing tremendous amounts of data. Our team is responsible for providing intellectual property IP cores for external memory interfaces that can be configured to suit whatever the customer's application is trying to accomplish. Our goal is to create and deliver rock-solid IP so that our customers can get on with the business of crunching data without having to worry about all of the details that go into making an external interface run at gigahertz speeds - that's our job.

As a member of the programmable IP engineering (PIPE) team, you will work alongside a team of engineers that are responsible for many aspects of our IP, including:
- Development of external memory (e.g., DDR4) and other IPs for upcoming protocols and devices
- Writing embedded software (C) to configure and calibrate different memory technologies
- Creating the test infrastructure required to validate our IPs across different configurations
- Working on tools to debug/measure the performance of a memory interface
- Helping design, review and power-up our internal testing boards
- Building test designs to ensure that our silicon is functioning correctly

6+ months of experience in the following areas:

  • RTL design with Verilog and/or VHDL
  • C/C++, particularly for embedded applications
  • Software engineering and scripting languages

Preferred Requirements:

6+ months of experience in the following areas:

  • Hardware design (microcontrollers, PCBs, soldering, using scopes/probes/DMMs)

We are seeking a self-motivated firmware engineer to join a growing team of SSD developers who focus on moving Intel's SSD technologies into new market segments.

In this position with the Platform Services firmware team, you will be responsible for low level embedded development for CPU and related hardware subsystems and features for cutting edge SSDs, including firmware design, prototyping, API definition and development, data analysis, code implementation, developing test strategies, problem solving and innovation.

Communication and proactive engagement with cross-functional teams in firmware, hardware, validation, and architecture, are of particular importance in this embedded focus area.

Come and join us! Intel is seeking highly qualified candidates to join our Data Center Group (DCG) as SW Video Compression Co-op!

This position is an Intel Contract Employee ICE and is located in Vancouver, Canada. Intel Contract Employees are hired directly by Intel on a fixed term or specified purpose contract and are employees of Intel for the duration of the contract.

Join our Intel Data Center Group Division at the Marine Gateway site in Vancouver. Our team is driving the innovation of SW video compression algorithms targeting the Intel Xeon CPUs and Data Centre platforms. As a co-op in our team, you'll get to take part of producing cutting edge video compression technologies with the latest and greatest Intel CPUs.

Your tasks would include, but not be limited to, the following:

- Manual subjective testing and evaluation of sample video clips.

- Analyze and debug video coding artifacts.

- Produce comprehensive test case reports.

- Develop, run and collect results of automated test cases.

- Log Jira tickets for issues uncovered during the validation process.

- Add and maintain features in video player tools and sample application.

- Set up debug systems and / or performance systems according to precise HW specifications.
