The opportunity

As a Tax Staff or Senior Tax Staff, you will be a part of our International Tax Services.  Within ITS, you will specialize in Transfer Pricing.  We offer depth of experience through a worldwide network of dedicated transfer pricing professionals.  You will be working alongside a team of dedicated transfer pricing economists and tax professionals providing a fully integrated approach to transfer pricing, our people prepare documentation, defend transfer pricing in audits, and develop tax planning approaches.

Your key responsibilities

As a Tax Staff for our Transfer Pricing practice, you will participate in various challenging transfer pricing engagements and to contribute to the delivery of quality transfer pricing services for our diverse clients.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of economic principles and effectively apply economic/finance knowledge to clients.

  • Assist in the delivery of quality transfer pricing and economic services with timely and responsive services/work products.

  • Conduct searches for comparable transactions and/or companies to assist with the preparation of documentation, advanced pricing arrangements (APAs), audit defence materials, and planning documents.

  • Perform industry, company, and other research as needed.  Participate in and contribute to achieving team goals. Thoroughly and accurately analyze factual and financial information. Assist in the preparation of high quality, practical approaches to the client's economic situation and arrive at logical conclusions.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • An undergraduate degree in economics, accounting, finance, business or related field 
  • Completed courses in introductory accounting and finance or have sufficient relevant business experience
  • Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of excel, word and PowerPoint

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Prior business or advisory experience is an asset; previous transfer pricing experience is a strong asset
  • The ability to thrive within a fast-paced, professional services environment

We are seeking a SAP BPC Functional Specialist. Enabling Technologies primarily focuses on the design and optimization of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) packages like SAP, Oracle, and others. Your Key Responsibilities

As a SAP BPC Functional Specialist, you’ll be responsible for the following:

Project Management:

The roles and responsibilities within our SAP group are to provide professional and effective functional or technical consulting services as they pertain to our SAP practice. Consistently deliver quality client services, driving high-quality work products within the expected timeframes and on budget. Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes. Manage expectations of client service delivery. Stay abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business. Should be a self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Should be comfortable interfacing with a client on a daily basis. This role requires daily interaction with the client at many levels.

  • Providing input and advice regarding SAP capabilities and functions to customer organizations.

  • Building positive client and peer relationships by developing an understanding of customer's business and project scope.

  • Developing exposure to multiple sub-areas within Ernst & Young Canada

  • Assisting with the orientation of new team members.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Ability and comfort level researching client inquiries and emerging issues, including accounting regulations, industry practices, and new technologies.

  • Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions.

  • The ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, team-oriented, collaborative environment

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, accounting, finance or a related field with relevant work experience

  • Prior experience working with SAP with at least 1 full cycle implementations covering design, build and testing

  • Functional hands on experience in SAP implementation and configuration in SAP BPC (Business, Planning and Consolidation)

  • Ability to communicate the SAP BPC roadmap and recommend appropriate BPC solutions based on business requirements

  • SAP Certification is an asset.

Your key responsibilities

  • Analyze business, financial and IT systems, and other data processing problems to identify risks and improvements in computer systems and IT-enabled business processes.

  • Assist clients in strengthening internal controls and improve IT and business performance. Collaborate with other members of the engagement team to plan the engagement and develop work program timelines, risk assessments, and other planning documents.
  • Ensure high quality in client service by directing daily progress of fieldwork, informing supervisors of engagement status, and managing staff performance.
  • Demonstrate and apply a thorough understanding of IT trends to identify the engagement and client service issues, and communicate this information to the engagement team and client management through written correspondence and verbal presentations.
  • Demonstrate and apply strong project management skills, inspire teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members, and use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and services.
  • Maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Cultivate business development opportunities.

  • A minimum of 1 years of experience in managing and/or leading projects, information technology operations, internal audit or internal controls

  • Experience with project management, information security or IT operations based in large enterprise resource planning systems, such as SAP would be considered an asset

  • Willingness to travel

 Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience in at least one of the following: financial statement audits; internal audits; operational audits; IT general controls assessments; Service Organization Control reporting engagements; and, ERP security and controls reviews (SAP, Oracle or PeopleSoft)
