The opportunity

In response to strong market demand, we are looking for a Staff Consultant to join our team who can work directly with clients, to help them understand and address the risks associated with the technologies that support their business.

Your key responsibilities

  • Analyze business, financial and IT systems, and other data processing problems to identify risks and improvements in computer systems and IT-enabled business processes.

  • Assist clients in strengthening internal controls and improve IT and business performance. Collaborate with other members of the engagement team to plan the engagement and develop work program timelines, risk assessments, and other planning documents.
  • Ensure high quality in client service by directing daily progress of fieldwork, informing supervisors of engagement status, and managing staff performance.
  • Demonstrate and apply a thorough understanding of IT trends to identify the engagement and client service issues, and communicate this information to the engagement team and client management through written correspondence and verbal presentations.
  • Demonstrate and apply strong project management skills, inspire teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members, and use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and services.
  • Maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Cultivate business development opportunities.

To qualify for the role you must have           

  • A Bachelor's degree in information systems, commerce, computer science, engineering, business, finance and/or other related major

  • Candidates must also possess or be actively pursuing related professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CISM or CIA.

  • SOX experience considered an asset

  • A minimum of 1 years of experience in managing and/or leading projects, information technology operations, internal audit or internal controls

  • Experience with project management, information security or IT operations based in large enterprise resource planning systems, such as SAP would be considered an asset

  • Willingness to travel

 Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience in at least one of the following: financial statement audits; internal audits; operational audits; IT general controls assessments; Service Organization Control reporting engagements; and, ERP security and controls reviews (SAP, Oracle or PeopleSoft)

The objective of our advisory risk services is to provide clients with a candid and reliable overview of their risk landscape.  Our solutions can be used by our clients to build confidence and trust with their customers, the overall market and when required by regulation or contract.

The opportunity

Our Risk team provides comprehensive risk services that help companies around the world evaluate and enhance their risk management and internal audit functions. Professionals in this role will work within the IT Risk and Assurance group to evaluate and test IT general controls, application controls, and business process controls to support financial statement audits, service organizational control reporting as well as internal audit projects. Your key responsibilities

As an Internal Audit professional, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive risk services through a suite of strategic, outsourcing, and industry-focused operational recommendations that help companies around the world evaluate and enhance their internal audit and risk management functions. We plan, lead and perform internal audit, SarbanesOxley (SOX) and risk advisory projects in accordance with the client's risk management strategy resulting in the identification of control enhancements, operational and compliance process improvements and efficiency opportunities as well as company-wide cost improvements.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • An undergraduate degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, business and/or related major Accounting or related financial educational background is an asset

  • Demonstrate an interest in pursuing relevant designations and completing the required examinations

  • Strong academic record, including, without limitation, course work that EY deems relevant to this position

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Proficient in the English language, including the ability to listen, understand, read, and communicate effectively both in writing and verbally in a professional environment

  • Proficient with MS Office, including MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint

  • Willing and able to learn and work independently with minimal supervision

We are looking for a Recruitment Coordinator to work in the Talent Shared Services. The coordinator will provide support services for the Canadian Talent Team and other HR activities within Talent Shared Services. The Recruiting Coordinator supports the EY recruiting business unit in various customer service aspects of the recruiting process specific to experienced hire recruiting. The Recruitment Coordinator's work is generally determined and managed by his/her supervisor and includes performing transactions, completing reporting, coordinating events, data entry, records management, and other HR processes.  This role requires internal and external facing relationships and will have significant interaction with candidates, employees and other HR clients.

Your key responsibilities

  • Provide support and coordination for recruiting processes and programs including running reports, data analysis, creation and/or update of spreadsheets, support of the scheduling process, etc.
  • Enter/updating of new employee information into computer database, working closely with HRMS team and HR Coordinators
  • Become proficient with Taleo (applicant tracking system)
  • Check transactions and projects to ensure data integrity
  • Prepare job postings for both internal and external job boards
  • Prepare offer letters and offer letter packages, including onboarding communications
  • Administrative support for GigNow hiring and onboarding of contractors
  • Assists with the validation and collection of new hire documentation
  • Request background investigations and analyse reports
  • Arrange payment of invoices and bonuses
  • Support the BRET process
  • Conduct new employee orientations and presentations, and ensure all necessary forms and documents are completed and returned
  • Provide coordination/administrative support events and meetings and other national processes such as orientation (e.g. materials and scheduling)
  • Escalate issues that are outside of standard process
  • Develop relationships with other team members and clients
  • Liaises with other HR field staff on recruiting related matters
  • Respond in a timely manner and meet or exceed deadlines
  • Execute on tasks and special projects as assigned

Skills and attributes for success

  • The individual in this role must have strong attention to detail with the ability to execute transactions accurately and efficiently

To qualify for the role you must have

  • ·    A Bachelor's degree or a certificate in Human Resources (or a related field). Equivalent experience will also be considered. 
  • ·    Human Resources, data entry, and/or records management experience desirable but not required.
  • ·       Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills with a focus on customer service
  • ·       Ability to remain efficient and extremely organized while handling a high volume of work
  • ·       Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks
  • ·       Strong communication and listening skills
  • ·       Demonstrated initiative and ability to seek out answers to questions and problems
  • ·       Extremely trustworthy and capable of handling highly sensitive and confidential information
