Responsibilities

• Recognize potential audit issues or unusual relationships from basic analysis of the financial statements and communicate them to the team.
• Clearly and accurately document the execution of specific audit procedures as defined by the engagement objectives, client's engagement history, and planned audit approach.
• Challenge procedures used in the past and attempt to enhance audit techniques.
• Demonstrate professionalism and competence in the client's environment.
• Maintain a strong client focus, be responsive to client requests, and develop/maintain productive working relationships with client personnel.
• Stay informed of current business/economic developments relevant to the client's business.
• Develop people through teamwork, integrity, and leadership.
• Collaborate with team members to set goals and responsibilities.
• Contribute ideas/opinions to the audit teams and listen/respond to other team members' views. Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery.
• Bring potential opportunities to the team's attention.
• Seek, develop, and present ideas to apply EY's knowledge and services.

Qualifications:

To qualify, candidates must:
• Be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting; having completed all prerequisite courses and requirements to begin the CPA PEP program upon commencement of full-time employment
• Have advanced written and verbal communication skills
• Possess strong dedication to teamwork
• Be committed to integrity within a professional environment

Diversified Staff Group (DSG): DSG provides staff with the opportunity to combine corporate tax work with structured and virtual learning. Our curriculum will build your career in Canadian Corporate tax; includes work experience in tax compliance, tax accrual reviews, tax provisions and tax planning. Our people work on key client issues in domestic and some international corporate income taxation, with a focus on implementing tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives.

People Advisory Services - Mobility (PAS): Our People Advisory Services practice provides high-quality compliance and advisory solutions to help our clients drive organization success through human capital. People Advisory Services encompasses Mobility, Global Employment Tax Services, Total Rewards, HR Performance Improvement and Immigration services. Mobility services include Canadian and US personal income and social security tax compliance and advisory services; mobility policy design; executive compensation advice; employer tax advice; and global coordination. Using cutting-edge technology and working with team-oriented colleagues, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting internationally mobile employees of our clients with their Canadian and US personal tax compliance. Our practice is one of the world’s largest and has talented and innovative professionals dedicated to teamwork and exceptional client service. During your work term, your potential responsibilities may include:

• Interface with clients and team members to secure tax data
• Analyze data and prepare work papers based on professional standards 
• Determine the accuracy/completeness of the compliance product, perform quality assurance procedures, and prepare the product for delivery 
• Prepare Canadian and US personal/corporate income tax returns
• Respond to Canadian and US tax authority notices through various means of correspondence 
• Leverage technology and artificial intelligence methods available to maximize productivity
