JOB OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a Program Manager to join our Corporate department.  In this role, the successful candidate is expected to provide support to the CI Financial Group of Companies with program management and oversite of product, regulatory and corporate initiatives.  The Program Manager will be responsible for the coordination of various projects within each program to ensure the successful achievement of the common delivery goal.  The Program Manager must be influential overall project teams, ensuring cross project dependencies are accounted for in schedule and budget while coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to achieve program delivery according to approved plan.

 

A Program Manager’s role within Program Management Office (PMO) is to successfully integrate the plans provided by various IT and business delivery project managers managing the successful coordination and execution of large and complex project requests with regular status reporting to delivery teams, Program Management Office, program sponsor and executive management.  The Program Manager will be responsible for management of schedules, budget, and scope, reporting all deviations from the approved business case to PMO and Management as appropriate.  The Program Manager will be required to perform the management functions of directing, controlling, planning and communicating with the project manager for each delivery team throughout each phase of the program delivery.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Prepare overall program plan
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure the activities of all project teams are on track
  • Liaise between the project manager and impacted departments to coordinate program support
  • Document all program events and milestones
  • Prepare program budget, detailing budgets for individual project
  • Managing risks for the programs

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business, or Management of Information Systems preferred 
  • Certifications in project management (e.g. PMP) or in progress of working towards a project management designation
  • 10+ years working in the financial industry with at least 5 years in a management capacity. 
  • 3-5 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution
  • Strong familiarity with project management software, such as MS Project
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good at planning and organizing
  • Decision making
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to influence and motivate others

JOB OVERVIEW

The Quality Assurance Team is a critical part of the software development process at CI Financial. Our teams cover Quality Assurance for Manufacturing, Assante, and IWMS Systems. In your role as an Intermediate Quality Assurance Analyst (QA II) you will focus on developing and executing test cases for more complex projects to identify software problems and their causes during the test phase of the waterfall software development life cycle and also during Agile sprint cycles. Intermediate QA Analysts are expected to be able to write SQL queries to prepare, validate and document test activities. The Intermediate QA Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all testing, documentation and implementations are done in accordance with CI internal policies and procedures. This position is fast paced and ever changing, requiring flexibility, self-initiative, and regular management of changing priorities.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Develop and execute manual and automated testing against application modifications, enhancements, and new functionality by developing and executing test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures
  • Create test data for more complex projects and new product launches
  • Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content 
  • Log issues encountered using a defect tracking system and report those defects to the Project Team
  • Monitor defect resolution efforts and track successes
  • Re-test any defects or issues encountered
  • Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates
  • Track and report upon testing activities, including test results, test case coverage, and defect discovered and their status
  • Ensure content and structures of all Testing artifacts are well documented and maintained
  • Support other test team members and associated IT and Business resources as appropriate to the implementation of testing related activities

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Minimum of 3 years work experience within the Financial Services Industry an asset
  • University degree or community college diploma in a related field such as Computer Science/Information Technology and/or equivalent applicable Business and/or IT experience
  • Previous Quality Assurance analysis or Computer Programming experience an asset
  • Working knowledge of mutual funds, segregated funds and other wealth management products
  • Experience and understanding of at least one of the following Shareholder Record Keeping Systems (Compass, eCISS, RPM, Triple-A)
  • IFIC/CSC certification an asset
  • Intermediate knowledge of SQL and basic scripting
  • Ability to design, write, test and document efficient testing solutions to meet customer needs
  • Experience in one or more scripting languages and/or programming languages like Java, Python
  • Exposure to Selenium or other automation tools is a plus
