Senior Corporate Accountant General Summary

This position is accountable for the accounting operations of the Avcorp Group: includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and preparation and maintenance of comprehensive internal processes and controls. The successful candidate will support the preparation of the Avcorp Group budget, design processes to mitigate risk, enhance accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (IFRS).

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures

• Maintain documented internal processes and controls in compliance with the COSO Framework.

• Provide support for all accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, primarily their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.

• Maintain financial records of intercompany transactions and intercompany debt

• Support in the preparation of Canadian and US tax filings and tax provision accounting.

• Monthly Consolidation and Quarterly Financial Statement Preparation

• Project Manage / Coordinate the information to external auditors for the annual audit of the Group Financial Statements

• Calculate and issue group financial and operational metrics on a monthly basis. Coordinate the preparation of the corporate quarterly and annual reports.

• Manage the production of the corporate and consolidated group annual budget and forecasts.

• Provide financial analyses as needed, in support of capital investments, and financing decisions. Qualifications and Experience

• 3 - 5 years of progressively responsible experience for a public company or Big 4 CPA firm.

• Chartered Professional Accountant designation

• Understanding of ERP Systems and Cost Accounting an asset

General Summary

Reporting to the VP, Human Resources, the Technical Training Coordinator is responsible for managing the training function and providing leadership, guidance and training to all employees as required. The Technical Training Coordinator will identify needs, design, develop and implement curricula, courses, and programs to support the company’s training needs in the most cost-effective ways. In addition, he/she will maintain documentation in compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.

The Technical Training Coordinator has a full understanding of adult learning principles and the link between Learning/Development and the objectives of the business.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work closely with chargehands and supervisors and to provide consultation and guidance on technical skills assessment, training, and certification requirements.

• Analyze and determine training needs by reviewing specs and working with customers and develop training manuals and aids with the help of QEs and MEs.

• Develop training syllabus for new programs and customer requirements. Review curriculum to ensure right customer specifications. Upgrade Training database to capture job specific training requirements within a cell/program

• Conduct all in-house training

• Consult with employees and managers on training and development issues and assess need for external programs (consultants) as appropriate and work with the VPHR to determine solutions

• Manage and monitor all aspects of training project phases including building/supporting resources, scheduling, delivery, maintenance and evaluation with the assistance of a HR administrator

• Design, develop and maintain a library of training programs, materials and tools for employees and design and develop a variety of instructional materials in one or more formats (print-based, computer-based, multimedia, video and audio)

• Conduct employee and management orientation programs and ensure course content is relevant and updated on a regular basis.

• Attend Train the Trainer programs. Train chargehands and subject matter experts.

• Assist other areas of HR as required

Qualifications and Experience

• University degree or relevant technical training with formal training and education in Adult Learning is preferred. This will include developing programs with an understanding of Adult Education methodologies and techniques.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in training design and development is required

• Experience designing and developing in computer-based solutions is an asset.

• Ability to develop training aids and instructional materials using a range of media

• Above average computer skills, proficiency in MS Word, Excel and MS Access is required

• Experience designing and delivering various training programs and measure results of the training

• Strong classroom training and presentation skills

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills to negotiate, persuade and influence others across the business and externally where required.

• Experience in the Aerospace, Automotive or Manufacturing industry is required

• This position is subject to the Controlled Goods Clearance which requires Canadian permanent residence or citizenship.
