Company Overview

New Gold Inc. (“New Gold”) is an intermediate gold mining company. The company has a portfolio of four producing assets and three significant development projects. The New Afton Mine in Canada, the Mesquite Mine in the United States, the Peak Mines in Australia and the Cerro San Pedro Mine in Mexico, provide the company with its current production base and solid foundation. In addition, New Gold owns 100% of the Rainy River and Blackwater projects, both in Canada, as well as 30% of the El Morro project located in Chile. New Gold′s objective is to be the leading intermediate gold producer, focused on the environment and social responsibility.

Blackwater Project
Blackwater is one of New Gold′s two exciting future growth projects and is located approximately 160 kilometres southwest of Prince George in central British Columbia. The project was acquired by New Gold in June of 2011 through New Gold′s acquisition of Richfield Ventures Corp. New Gold looks forward to continuing the exploration of this project with the goal of ultimately bringing it through development and into production. Located 110 km southwest of Vanderhoof on the northern flanks of Mt. Davidson, New Gold’s Blackwater Project is home to this exciting exploration project and a temporary home to employees working at the site. Employees are transported to and from the project site via company shuttles, which depart from pick-up points in Quesnel, Prince George and Vanderhoof.

New Afton Mine
New Afton Mine is New Gold′s newest operating mine which commenced production in July 2012, ahead of schedule. New Afton is an underground blockcaving mine, which will produce an annual average of 75 million pounds of copper and 80,000 ounces of gold over a 12-year mine life. It is located 10km from Kamloops, British Columbia. Kamloops is a city of 90,000 people, located 350 kilometres east of Vancouver. The area provides the opportunity to live and work in a vibrant community with its own University and within easy reach of world class ski resorts, championship golf courses, mountain biking trails, popular recreational lakes and the vineyards of the Okanagan Valley.

Rainy River Project
Once in full operation, the Rainy River Project is anticipated to create approximately 600 permanent jobs. The construction work force would be approximately 450 people. New Gold is committed to maximizing local employment and contracting opportunities. The Company plans to work collaboratively with community partners to prepare local workers and establish programs for specific training as necessary. The Rainy River Project Site is located in the Township of Chapple, District of Rainy River, in Northwestern Ontario, approximately 65 Kilometres northwest of Fort Frances, and 420 kilometres west of Thunder Bay. The majority of the Rainy River Project employees live in the Rainy River District. The District has eight townships which are: Alberton, Atikokan, Chapple, Dawson, Emo, La Vallee, Morley, and Lake of the Woods, and two towns: Rainy River and Fort Frances. The largest of the townships is Emo, with a population of 1,252 while the largest of the towns is Fort Frances with a population of 7,952 both as of the 2011 census.
