The Trading & Supply Commercial Operations Development Programme (ODP) is designed to develop quality and credible Trading Operators in Singapore to drive our Trading activities. High-potential talents who excel in this programme can look forward to career advancement in regional or global Trading Operations leadership roles.
 
During the on-boarding, you will be exposed to all areas of Trading & Supply Commercial Operations. This is followed by two years of structured training with a minimum of three role rotations to give you a comprehensive overview of the cross-functional collaboration that supports our end-to-end operations. Besides Commercial Operations, the other rotation areas may include (but not limited to):
 
 
  • Contracts – management of the entire trading and supply Contracts process from pre-deal to and post-deal contractual activities, providing commercial/contractual advice on drafting and reviewing of contracts (including master agreements and confirmations for the derivatives and emissions trading business) and ad hoc problem solving involving trading and supply contracts. 
 
  • Economics & Scheduling – management and optimization of hydrocarbon production of the refinery, which includes the valuation and selection of crude and feedstock, defining and monitoring targets for process unit operations, right through to the blending and delivery of products to our customers.
     
  • Terminal Operations – management of the Terminal in ensuring a permanent fit-for-purpose condition and deliver operational excellence in the receipt, storage and loading of products, including maintenance, stock administration and achieving Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) objectives.
 
Alongside on-the-job learning experiences, there will also be in-house learning programmes and a strong mentoring & coaching support system to grow your capacity as an individual for core Trading Operations roles.

Requirements

 

  • Ensure that all obligations arising from the contract / charter party are carried out, and that any necessary requirements are compiled with.
  • Ensure that we comply with regulatory and governmental requirements as well as adhere to HSSE/Safety guidelines.
  • Deal with cargo and freight counter-parties, terminals and vessels on a regular basis regarding all post-deal activities ensuring all necessary operational information is passed on in good time and documentary requirements are met.
  • Make cargo and vessel nominations, prepare and send voyage orders and monitor progress of vessels. Required to pre-empt issues and avoid any delays which could hit our bottom line.
  • Appoint independent inspectors, expeditors and ships agents.
  • Ensure that all Operational Information is entered into Trading systems in timely fashion and ensure that adequate records are kept meeting the company's legal and fiscal obligations.
  • Ensure that any necessary financial security is in place.
  • Liaise with Finance, providing them with timely, accurate data and documentation to facilitate smooth invoicing / payment of cargoes.
  • Comply with Material Safety Data sheets requirements to meet Operational obligations
  • Ensure that all data pertaining to cargo or voyage claims/demurrage are recorded in the trading systems to enable efficient handling by the relevant claims / demurrage department.
  • Liaise with charterers to ensure smooth operations, avoid supply disruption and minimize demurrage costs.
  • Monitor and manage storage inventory.
  • Remain contactable outside regular work hours if business need arises

The position of the Project Business Analyst is established within the Downstream Retail IT – Marketing, Cards and Loyalty Competency Centre, Loyalty & Campaign Team.
We are looking for a Business Analyst who can bring strong analytical, problem solving, vendor management and stakeholder capabilities, to work on high profile projects that involve some of the latest technologies and deliver value directly to the bottom line of Shell Retail.
This role is responsible for working closely with the Thailand Marketing teams to advise, deliver and enhance Customer Value Propositions to Shell customers. Shell Retail is currently working aggressively to adopt a digital first mentality which you will be at the forefront of to ensure that value is being delivered through IT solutions.
This position is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with business stakeholders and customers on the digital transformation that Shell Retail is currently undergoing, over the next few years you will have an opportunity to work on projects that consist of real time marketing, mobile interaction, customer communication and further initiatives on the digital agenda

Requirements

 

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor or master degree in information technology, computer science, business administration or a related discipline
  • Certification in the Business Analysis (CCBA as a minimum)
  • Total 2 to 4 Years’ professional experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience as a business analyst
  • Knowledge of Key Parameters architecture, PCI compliance and Payment Security
  • Experience working in agile projects
  • Knowledge of integration solutions in a large landscape
  • Demonstrable track record in working in software developments groups and virtual working.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
  • Team player, communicative, accurate and pragmatic
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively and manage relationships with key stakeholders, peers and subordinates in a virtual, geographically dispersed and cross-cultural environment.
