The Master Group Corporation (Asia) Co.,Ltd or MGC is one of the country’s most dynamic organizations in terms of vision, sustainable growth and business potential. Under the diligence and stewardship of Dr Sunhavut, Khun Sukolkarn and Khun Jerdnapang Thamchuanviriya – this tight-knit team of brother and two sisters have successfully run MGC operations since 2000 through guidance from MGC Chairman Khun Viwat and Khun Ratana Thamchuanviriya. The Thamchuanviriyas has successfully transformed the MGC organization and its business units into a major powerhouse within the automotive retail and service sector.

MGC achieved total revenue of approximately 15 billion baht in 2013 on the strength of a solid and diversified business portfolio that demonstrated a highly synergized structure.

At the dawn of the new millennium, MGC was officially appointed as a BMW authorized dealer under the name Millennium Auto (MA); shortly after the first BMW rolled out of the Millennium Auto showroom – a solid network of BMW showrooms and aftersales service centers were created for the Bangkok area – in addition, MGC was appointed as the sole authorized MINI dealer in Thailand, thus confirming the commitment and capability of MGC to serve and assist every discerning need of the premium customer.

MGC grew from strength to strength as it was later appointed as the sole authorized distributor for Roll-Royce automobiles in Thailand, under the management of Millionaire Auto Sales & Services (Thailand). The Rolls-Royce distributorship, officially known as Rolls-Royce Motor Cars (Bangkok), has showroom located at Siam Paragon and on Rama III road the latter being Thailand’s first full-functional showroom and service facility. Besides the ultra-luxury Rolls-Royce brand, there is the addition of the Aston Martin Bangkok dealership, under the management of Heritage Motor Sales & Services (Thailand), which has strengthened MGC’s leadership position in the premium automotive retail and service segments.

Pattanakarn Honda Automobile (PHA), is another gem amongst MGC’s 15 BUs owing to the fact that its  showroom and a state-of-the-art Body & Paint facility based at Pattanakarn is one of Thailand’s largest and most modern facility of its kind. The newest BU is Yokohama Motor which sells Nissan vehicles.

Apart from the aforementioned business units, MGC has expanded its business to cover an integrated range of automotive-related businesses. MGC has been appointed as the sole distributor of AC Schnitzer and TechArt premium-class tuning accessories for BMW and Porsche respectively. Another major business unit of the MGC portfolio is its car rental business, under the guise of Master Car Rental (MCR) which handles both long-term and short-term customers, and is a Master Licensee for Sixt rent a car (a global car rental company based in Germany) which gives MCR responsibility over seven Southeast Asian markets, including Thailand.

Another venture of MGC is Master Motor Services (MMS), which operates a complete car maintenance service center under the MMS-Bosch Car Service brand. The business focus of MMS caters to vehicles with expired warranties. And then there is Maxi Insurance Broker, a leading insurance consultant which provides professional insurance services covering a variety of products such as Property Insurance, Liability Insurance, Motor Insurance, Accidental and Health Protection.

The vision of MGC Group is based on the underlying principle of eventually becoming one of Southeast Asia’s leading automotive retailers with sustainable growth and unparalleled success. Hence, the company has always had a strategic focus on people development and business process alignment. MGC recently established the Master Automotive Training (MAT) facility, a state-of-the-art training center equipped with the technology and personnel to meet every pre-requisite of automotive retailing education.

A mini-MBA program has been developed in a joint effort with the Assumption University. This unique graduate program was designed to enhance human resources’ capability, both for MGC and Thailand’s automotive industry. The mini-MBA program will be opened to the public in 2014.

The youngest company in the group is i24, which serves as an Information Technology Center for the automotive industry, and provides business processes for the MGC group. 

It is clear that all diverse and converging business strategies have been successfully implemented to serve as a solid foundation for the MGC group. This strengthened competitive competence realized by the MGC group, will undoubtedly prepare the group for the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) that will come in full force in 2016.
