Overview

Business is among the most popular fields of study at universities worldwide which touches on wide variety of aspect of modern society. The demand for human resource in the field of Business depends much on the economic development. Since 1986, Vietnam has successfully made a transition from a centrally planned system to a socialist-style market economy. Upon accession into the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2007, the international economic integration has brought various new opportunities to the country.

As reported by the General Statistical Office of Vietnam, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Vietnam expanded 6.19% in the third quarter of 2014 over the same quarter of the previous year. GDP Growth Rate in Vietnam averaged 6.13 % from 2000 until 2014 even in the period of global economic crises. As a high developing economy in the region, The nation has also become an attractive destination for foreign investors.

Along with the rapid growth of the economy, the number of industrial zones, FDI projects as well as foreign and local enterprises have experienced rapid increase over the past decades. Therefore, employment opportunities are widely open for high quality labour especially whom graduating from developed countries with excellent English skill.

Career opportunities

Careers with a business degree are diverse and often highly paid.

Business graduates go on to work in myriad different sectors, and not all of them are those you would typically associate with business in general. More obvious careers with a business degree include roles in accounting and finance departments, which take in large numbers of business degree graduates. Other sectors with high demand for business graduates include marketing and advertising, as well as retail, sales, human resources and business consultancy.

You could also use your business degree to pursue roles within SMEs (small- to medium-sized enterprises), innovative new start-ups, charities, non-profit organizations and NGOs. If you have a bright idea and the knowledge to back it up, you may even consider launching your own business.
