Currently, we are seeking an event assistant to provide logistics support to the Events team located in our Dubai office. This role will take on primary responsibility for all details relating to liaising with senior corporate and government speakers and delegates, working closely with project managers, marketers, and programmers. This role will be based in Gurgaon, India and will report into the Marketing Manager for our Dubai events.

Accountabilities:

In the role you would be expected to:

  • Provide day-to-day admin and logistics support to the project team
  • Act as Speaker liaison and maintain speaker contact information
  • Collect speaker collateral and presentation materials
  • Schedule briefing calls
  • Update websites and manage all content updates
  • Implement online marketing campaign: send emails through Eloqua system and track results online
  • Manage online social media marketing efforts for select events
  • Manage customer service inquiries for delegates before event
  • Coordinate speaker flights and accommodation as required
  • Update project documents
  • Process invoices and responsible for gathering billing evidence

Experience, skills and professional attributes:

 To succeed in the role you must have:

  • Experience in prioritising tasks effectively whilst working on several projects simultaneously
  • Good time management skills
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • A collaborative approach and a strong attention to detail
  • Good IT skills – PC literate (MS Office), Excel, ability to use database etc
  • First degree preferred

Accountabilities:

In this role you would be expected to:

 

  • Research speakers, developing an understanding of why certain speakers would be suited to an event
  • Produce compelling personalised speaker invitations
  • Research and proactively keeping track of speaker contact details, communications and requirements and ensuring all records are up to date.  This involves working in Salesforce and Excel
  • Follow up speaker invitations by email or phone to ensure they are received and to check contact details
  • Be responsible for managing speaker communications and logistics in the lead up to events.  This includes:
  • collect required information from speakers such as biography, photo, video release form, dinner attendance
  • set calls between speakers and programmer editors or moderators
  • proactively communicating with confirmed speakers regularly
  • respond to inbound speaker queries
  • manage speaker and moderator travel requirements
  • coordinate protocol and security requirements for government and other high-level speakers
  • Coordinate with marketing, sponsorship, operations and other teams to ensure smooth planning for and running of events
  • Ensure that all written and oral communications meet the standards of The Economist.

Experience, skills and professional attributes:

To succeed in this role you must have:

 

  • University level education; a degree in language, media, policy, economics or a related discipline is desirable
  • 1-2 years of work experience is an advantage
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is a core requirement of the role.  The ability to write in clear business English and to make phone calls with a confident and professional demeanour in a range of situations is essential. 
  • The ability to speak Spanish is an advantage but is not necessary

Currently, we are seeking a Survey Programming/Implementation Executive who will manage the quantitative survey workflow for specific projects from programming through to reporting in support of the Primary Research team in the US and UK.  Day to day work includes meeting daily milestones while working across a number of survey projects, and maintaining schedules and quality controls.  A responsible, diligent, and detail oriented individual will be able to manage the implementation of a number of surveys within tight timeframes.

Accountabilities:

 In this role you would be expected to:

Manage workflows across project lifecycles

Program surveys and conduct test link quality controls (standard surveys, site intercepts, varying levels of complexity)

Maintain quality controls across survey milestones (programming, initial data review, final data pull, data tabulations, reporting)

Work with database management team/CRM tool to set-up/pull target sample (as needed)

Work with external vendors to implement surveys (as needed)

Manage survey translation process or uploads/vendors

Manage survey field slow start and review data quality against programming parameters

Manage full field completion, including mid-way field status check, ability to meet quotas on schedule and data cleaning and quality controls 

Manage converting data from other online or CATI platforms into our system (as needed)

Create banner/analytic plans that inform data tabulations in survey system

Create data tabulations (simple and advanced) in survey system

Conduct statistical testing at 95% confidence (using survey platform or outside software/vendor)

Conduct advanced analytics (correlations, conjoint analysis, gap analysis)

Prepare effective PowerPoint slides or reports that showcase the data results

Work closely with the Primary Research team (US/UK) to ensure that surveys meet quality and deadline needs

 

Experience, skills and professional attributes:

      To succeed in this role you must have:

1-3 years of work experience along with 1 year survey programming and implementation experience

Experience in survey implementation process

Experience with using survey programming tools: Confirmit, Qualtrics,

Experience with advanced programming a plus: Complex randomization or filtering, Max Diff, Conjoint programming, etc.

Experience with analytic tools to run data tabulations or advanced analyses a plus:  IBM SPPS, Wincross, Sawtooth software applications (conjoint, max diff)

Experience with CRM tools a plus: Salesforce, Eloqua

Experience leveraging survey data in visualization tools like Tableau a plus

Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel and Word

Strong ability to multi-task and move between distinct projects
