  • Translates logical design into physical program specifications
  • Develops and integrates IT solutions (e.g. application module code, purchased package customization) by using appropriate development methodologies and standards, applying standard architectures/patterns, taking into account critical performance characteristics, security measures and customer requirements
  • Collaborates with System Designer/Analysts, Architects and Senior Developers to establish the physical application framework (e.g. libraries, reuse modules, development environments)
  • Develops and executes unit test plans to validate that application modules meet technical specifications

Job Description & Qualifications

PPM Prototype work stream involves engagement with Product Development & New model launch groups in various locations where Ford Prototype vehicles are manufactured. Key activities include

  • Generating & Maintenance of Bill Of Material (BOM)
  • Ordering & follow up of all parts as per BOM
  • Actively engage in all discussions until completion of Prototype build phase
  • BoM - Bill of Material development /Validation– Work with Product development engineers to identify and develop a comprehensive list of orderable parts required for the prototype build event.
  • For a given schedule, place orders for all validated parts using GPIRs. (Ford’s ERP)
  • GPIRS BOM Maintenance –Track part status changes & Publish updated BoM periodically. Changes to be tracked are - Newly added parts / No change / deleted parts / Quantity change/ Changes from Local to Import & Vice versa.
  • Review “Suspense” (Parts without Purchase orders) list generated from GPIRS, and follow-up with purchasing for closure.
  • Follow up with global supplier base for confirmation on part supportability before Material Required Date (MRD). Work with nominated logistics carrier and supplier to ensure parts are dispatched and track parts until they are received in GPIRS by the build site.
  • Lead PTR meetings (Part Tracking Review), to discuss on part level changes, suspense report, Red Border issues and supplier response metric.
  • Support build site team in material receiving activities and issue resolution.
  • ERP used in Ford Motor Co., for Prototype Parts ordering is GPIRS. Training will be provided on usage of this tool, to selected candidates.


Key requisites

  • Knowledge in areas related to BOM ,SCM ,logistics is mandatory
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office & ERP systems
  • Willingness to work in North America business hours [IST 4.30 PM to 2.30 AM] is MANDATORY
  • Must be willing to work under high pressure situations
