Duties & Responsibilities 

HSBC’s Regulatory Compliance Monitoring and Testing (RC M&T) programme provides ongoing, periodic monitoring and comprehensive testing for adherence to RC requirements. RC M&T Specialists are a key Compliance role, responsible for coordinating RCMAT activity within country. 

  • The key purpose of this role is the implementation and maintenance of RC M&T policy and procedures in order to obtain reasonable assurance that the business is operating in line with relevant laws, regulations, codes and HSBC Group Standards. 
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to providing ongoing support to Senior RC M&T Management, utilizing SME knowledge in the RC M&T risk environment to support the business, and implementing changes that mitigate risks that may result in the first and second Lines of Defense performing their role more effectively. 
  • Proposing, managing and tracking the resolution of subsequent risk management actions.
  • To assist  Head of Regulatory Monitoring and Testing in planning and executing monitoring process in HSBC Qatar
  • To be a participant to ad-hoc projects and activities as directed to contribute to the successful operation of the team
  • Engage with RC and Business on emerging themes and compliance risks that could impact business.
  • Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets

Qualifications

Experience & Qualifications 

  • Good understanding of RC principles and regulations, leading to the ability to identify compliance risks.
  • Understanding of the activities of cross business lines and associated compliance risks
  • Awareness of strong risk management and governance frameworks including 3 lines of defense criteria
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and to engage with senior HSBC staff. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight time-lines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – ability to communicate complex regulatory issues in writing.
  • Proven team player with an open communication style.

  • Achieve individual Retail Banking and Wealth Management performance metrics
  • Meeting customer expectations in terms of efficiency, accuracy, timeliness and professionalism of response either face to face, in written or at the telephone. 
  • Execute on customer contact strategies in line with Group operating models and strategy set by regional Management team 
  • Fully utilize and input to Customer Relationship Management data, ensuring all customer information is complete and kept up to date

  • Maintain HSBC Information Security Risk standards and controls, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
