Responsible for Safety and Security of the aircraft and passengers and Cargo on board, as far as his duties are concerned; and in the absence of the commander for any reason.

Maintain familiarity with Etihad’s Operations Manual as are necessary to fulfil his function both professionally and safely

Assist the commander as requested, concerning any administrative duties in relation to the flight

Support the Commander in the maintenance of a proper standard of crew discipline, conduct and personal appearance

Carrying out such duties concerning the flight in accordance with Etihad’s operating policies and procedures, as are allocated to him by the Commander

Confirming the safe navigation of the aircraft, maintaining a continuous and independent check upon both the geographical position of the aircraft ensuring safe terrain and weather clearance

Conducting the flight in compliance with the current flight plan, SOPs and the Commander’s instructions when the Commander is not at the controls, and to subsequently notify the Commander of any change to the current flight plan, ATC or geographical position upon his return

Providing such advice, information and assistance without hesitation if required, to the Commander as may contribute favorably towards the safe and efficient conduct of the flight

Maintaining a high personal standard of discipline, conduct and appearance as a representative of Etihad Airways at all times.

In the event of Commander Incapacitation, the highest ranking Co-Pilot assigned to the flight shall assume command

Qualifications:

- A minimum of 2500 hours total flying time.
- A minimum of 1500 hours on multi crew,glass cockpit (1) or high performance military jet
- 500 hours should be on the B787.
- ICAO current and unrestricted ATPL. We do not accept Frozen ATPL unless held by a UAE citizen.
- Current on B787.
- Unrestricted, current Class 1 medical.
- Maximum age limit is 50 years old.
- English Language Fluency ( written and verbal ) Level 4 or better

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To supervise the landside operation delivering an optimum guest experience at all ‘touch points’. Acts as a senior point of liaison for third party customer service staff ensuring that Etihad Airways ground handling requirements and customer service standards are met at all times.
  • Supervise flight-handling activities such as flight editing, check-in, transfers, boarding etc, in order to ensure an optimum standard of guest service, ensuring that all ground services business is delivered in accordance with the Etihad values.
  • Act as point of liaison for 3rd party check-in staff ensuring that resources provided are aligned with the SLA.
  • Conduct SLA audits feedback the findings to the Airport Manager and GHA staff.
  • Will take an active role in Emergency Response and Business Continuity exercises.
  • Ensure that opportunities to optimize excess baggage revenues are identified and delivered.
  • Will act as local guest services champion for airport feedback in consultation with HQ.
  • Other ad hoc duties as detailed by the business as and when required.
  • Responsible and accountable for identifying safety risks in accordance with risk assessment process, and ensures that adequate risk mitigation steps are appropriately implemented in order to ascertain safety within the workplace.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum secondary education, preferably diploma level, ideally with 3-5 years customer service experience. Supervisory experience of at least 1 year would be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 1 year airline experience is preferred. Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills, social competence and cultural awareness
  • Self-starter, team player, committed to deliver
  • Language skills (Arabic/ISC) a plus

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as subject matter experts to provide the required training solutions to support Engineering trainees in Line/Light/Heavy Maintenance
  • Identify training and development needs within the Aircraft Maintenance departments through own functional experience, performance reviews and regular consultation with TEDP managers.
  • Partner with Engineers on the floor to design and develop training and maintenance tasks based on both GCAA/Quality OJT requirements and individual’s needs.
  • Accountable for delivering effective OJT induction programs, conducting appraisals monthly and covering the learning material for each batch, on job training ( OJT) for all the areas across the business.
  • Monitor and review progress of trainees through questionnaires and formal feedback sessions to ensure that development plans are set accordingly and changes made where required and feedback to Technical Training and Production Trainers.
  • Coach the trainees at the workplace and follow the Etihad standards to ensure consistency is maintained.
  • Adhere to regulatory training requirements, amend and revise daily training plans as necessary to adapt to changes in the maintenance environment.
  • Responsible for monitoring and managing attendance of their direct reports; accountable for escalating any problems following HR policies and procedures in certain instances initiating disciplinary action.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
 

  • Qualified Aircraft Maintenance technician, or (Desired) Aircraft Maintenance License Holder, or Degree in Aviation Discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years or more working as technician in an Aircraft Maintenance environment working ‘hands on’, Supervisory experience in an Aircraft maintenance educational institution.
  • Strong Coaching, Training and leadership skills / Technical & soft skills / ability to work with multi culture environment
