Siemens Signalling Company Ltd (SSCX), established in December 1995, is a Sino-German joint venture between Xi′an Railway Signal Factory (XRSF) and Siemens Ltd. China (SLC), engaged in development, design, manufacture and sales of signalling products and systems for main line, mass transit, special railways, other rail bound transportation systems, and the related engineering and services.

Job Description & Qualifications

What are my responsibilities?

 

  • Coordination, control and follow up of installation execution, such as civil works, trenching, electromechanical equipment, signaling, telecommunications and power supply equipment installation activities
  • Support to Signaling and Telecommunication Systems tests and commissioning phase
  • Execution of tests and commissioning of the power supply equipment and 11 kV connection to national electricity provider in accordance with Siemens Contract
  • Planning and Requisition of Resources and Material
  • Supervision of execution according to Specification and Design Documents
  • Follow up of Progress report / Field instruction
  • Reporting and Documentation of Site / Section Status
  • Preparing and Monitoring of work instructions
  • Inputs for As Built Drawings
  • Testing & Commissioning according to Specification and Design Documents
  • Preparation of Test Sheets and Documents
  • Preparation of Time Schedule (installation & commissioning part) according project requirement
  • Updating of Time Schedule according project progress
  • Preparation of safety handbook & implementations, site meetings and safety inductions
  • Receiving materials and recording and ensure compliance of quantity and specifications
  • Check all out-going material for quantity verification and conduct quality checks on incoming / outgoing
  • Familiarizes himself / herself with the owners technical specification and ensures that the owners, specification requirement are adhered to liaise with the owners inspector or his representative
  • Providing project management / Site Manager with site status reports
  • Liaise with Project Engineering Team in order to make sure an appropriate detail design handover

 

What do I need to qualify for this job?

 

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering is a must have 
  • A minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in railway site installation 
  • solid experience in Signaling, Telecommunications and/or Power Supply installation and commissioning
  • Knowledge of warehouse, storage of material, material delivery control and work preparation
  • Very good experience handling Health, Safety & Environmental responsibilities
  • Team work mentality, excellent communication level
  • Fluent level in both English and Arabic

What are my responsibilities?

  • Being a trusted advisor to top management also beyond legal matters (applying specific leadership skills as lawyer). Leading a specialist organization with following responsibilities:
  • Participates in defining legal policies, guidelines and standards, in assigned area of accountability.
  • Assesses legal needs of the business, and develops legal strategies, processes and methods to mitigate legal or compliance related business risks.
  • Ensures consistent implementation of the strategy in the assigned area.
  • Decides budgets and resource allocation for assigned legal department and related legal engagements.
  • Qualifies external legal firms, and proposes for a general cooperation on a global or regional base.
  • Promotes legal policies and interest, and represents Siemens Legal internally and externally (i.e. in Industry associations, etc.).
  • May hold Corporate Secretary position; attends BOD meetings.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Law degree and admission as an attorney-at-law in Egypt with at least 8-10 years work experience in a similar position in an international environment (preferably in an international company)
  • Excellent legal knowledge and experience in particular with public procurement law, contract law and corporate law
  • Native Arabic and excellent written and spoken English language skills
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and team work skills, ability to be a trusted partner of the management
  • Highly developed negotiation skills and diplomacy
  • Strong communication skills, ability to communicate effectively in an international working environment (locally and with headquarters in the UAE and Germany)
  • Excellent business acumen

Electrical Project Engineer Power Supply

Job Description & Qualifications

What are my responsibilities?

  • Site and technical room electrical design layouts for the integrated design and construction of the power supply system with civil works, M&E, signaling, telecommunications, Central Control System SCADA.
  • Design interface management and clarifications with the electrical distribution company, civil works, M&E, signaling, Telecommunications, Central Control System SCADA.
  • Technical documentation including project plans (e.g. installation plans, test & commissioning plans, O&M manuals and training plans).
  • Liaise between the site activity, the engineering & the project management
  • Technical liaison with the Germany based design manager and engineers during all phases of the project and client consultant.
  • Design verification and validation incl. requirements management.
  • Updating the power supply system sub-program (time schedule) during procurement, installation and T&C phases and interfacing with the project scheduler.
  • Support for client training.
  • Site inspections and quality assurance (e.g. inspection of quality and correctness of the power supply works during installation, test & commissioning according the system design requirements).
  • Managing site modifications to the design and completion of As-built documentation.
  • Technical support during manufacturing and supporting installation and commissioning engineers during the construction and test phases of the project.
  • Accept a personal responsibility to take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of other persons who may be affected by their acts and omissions 
  • Take reasonable care to avoid acts or omissions that could have an environmental impact
  • Ensure compliance with the BMS procedures relative to their position 
  • Follow emergency procedures 
  • Wear approved protective clothing and using safety equipment when required by health and safety regulations. 
  • Use all equipment provided safely and notifying local management of any observed deficiencies or defects as soon as they become apparent 
  • Inform management of any changes in materials, plant or processes and of any new materials, plant or processes which become apparent in the course of work that may impact on safety or the environment
  • Inform management of any potential improvements that could improve Siemens Mobility environmental performance
  • Immediately inform management of any observed hazards, injuries or dangerous occurrences, which become apparent during work
  • Stop work when instructed to do so and only resume or commence work when instructed it is safe to do so. 
  • Report all safety and environmental incidents and accidents
