MAIN TASKS

  • Drive and lead laboratory team in providing and executing analytical support/services to the production plant and other product quality related activities in line with site Quality and HSE requirements
  • Ensure the products release for the market according to the sensory evaluation tests.
  • Deal with customer feedback & complaints, and pass on issues to managers where necessary.
  • Manage the audits by customers and authorities. 

 

REQUIREMENT

  • Master’s Degree in Chemistry or equivalent from recognized university.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in laboratory & 2 years management experience
  • Must have highly proactive attitude with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Highly independent and possesses excellent leadership capabilities.
  • Working knowledge with test procedures applying standards following ISO/DIN requirements.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skill and able to work under pressure.
  • Basic knowledge in SAP system
  • Good proficiency of English, both spoken and written

Key Responsibilities

Category Management

  • Plan to Strategy. Responsible for contributing to strategy for regional categories:
  • Provide inputs on the market knowledge (e.g. supply market structure and dynamics, strategies of suppliers, pricing structures, opportunities and threats) to Regional Category Manager
  • Support Regional Category Manager on strategy development (e.g. strategic goals, strategic options, implementation plan)
  • Sourcing to Contract  
  • Review the Purchase Requisitions, initiate the Sourcing process covering Bidders list, RFQ preparation, Inviting the Bids, Commercial negotiations and awarding 
  • Align the award decision with the internal business partners and Regional Category Manager as required 
  • Responsible for the order execution till the completion of the job including the change order management.
  • Develop the contract administration process, including the claim management under functional guidance from the Regional category manager.
  • Responsible for achieving the procurement savings out of negotiations as per the Targets   
  • Responsible for the PO release in the SAP system as per the organization approval limits.
  • Escalation point for NCM management (with support from Operational Officer)
  • Coordinate and support the shared service centre at KL Malaysia, for the Operational part of the PO/contract ( P2P) 
  • Functional Responsibility: being led by Regional Category Manager
  • At request of Regional Category Manager, align resource allocation for Local Procurement Representative with Hub Management and provide guidance to Local Procurement Representative in selected cases
  • Execute Supplier Management according to boundaries and action plan defined by Regional Category Manager, manage relationships with key suppliers, evaluate supplier performance, drive supplier innovation
  • Execute Risk Management approach with appropriate actions
  • Supplier Relationship Management
  • Actively manage the portfolio of suppliers for defined categories, strengthen partnership with key suppliers and continuously manage supplier performance. Included activities:
  • Establish contacts with the management of key suppliers to acquire information on service offerings and market trends and to enable timely settlement of issues
  • Actively monitor the supplier landscape in South east Asia and build up new suppliers to enable them to meet BASF’s standards and requirements 
  • Ensure that suppliers meet the general and country-specific requirements and standards by aligning with internal Business Partners, EHS, Regional Procurement and other relevant internal and external parties
  • Address sustainability topics to protect BASF’s reputation and reduce business risks from non-compliance with environmental, social or governance (ESG) standards
  • Ensure that the performance of all suppliers of is regularly evaluated based on suitable KPIs 
  • Manage critical issues and claims with suppliers and affected internal Business Partners, escalate issues further if required and ensure that effective measures are implemented timely to solve root causes and improve customer satisfaction
  • Manage the process to delist suppliers if the performance is unsatisfactory and an improvement is unlikely after alignment with internal Business Partners and other relevant internal or external parties

Main Tasks:

  • Monitor daily inspection according sampling plan and all data maintained in system.
  • Issues safety and work instructions for QC Laboratory.
  • Monitor and support on re-sampling of testing sample not meet specification.
  • Ensure all test method compliance with safety and quality.
  • Support on releases raw materials prior to use in the production.
  • Support on releases finished products prior to delivery to customers.
  • Conduct lab trial for quality adjustment of off-specification product.
  • Conduct application test for EDK product.
  • Conduct supporting test out of sampling plan.
  • Prepare sample for qualification test and polymer analysis to other BASF laboratory and external laboratory.
  • Maintain and verify all laboratory equipment in good condition to support daily operation.
  • Prepare and conduct calibration for respective lab equipment.
