Job Description & Qualifications

Main Tasks:

 

  • Develop novel functional formulations as well as industry-relevant coating and patterning techniques for Organic Electronics.
  • Develop novel dispersion and stabilization methods of functional materials (s-CNTs, organic semiconductors, dyes, and quantum dots)
  • Design experimental plans for optimizations on patterning process based on developed functional formulations. 
  • Contribute to improve our scientific understanding of device operation. 
  • Based on a solid understanding of organic electronics including OLED displays and customer requests, analyze results and draw conclusions
  • Compile reports of the experiments conducted and the results obtained 
  • Ensure efficient laboratory operations and contribute to an innovative spirit at our research center in Korea and global BASF R&D community
  • Foster a culture of safe laboratory practices according to high environment, health and safety standards

 

Education/Qualifications required:

 

  • A master degree (+ 5 years in job experience), or Ph.D in chemistry, synthesis of polymers or small molecules, and inorganics (quantum dots, perovskite quantum dots), and other material science. 
  • A solid working knowledge of Electronic/Display materials, and systems. 
  • Work experience in Electronics/Display materials or OLED display makers is an advantage.
  • Work experience in dispersion/formulation/patterning (quantum dots, pigments, dye, black materials) is an advantage.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under supervision of lab team leader perform routine scientific research tasks using standard techniques, procedures and equipment.
  • Analyze and document results, prepare technical reports, examinations and summaries.
  • Prepare, run and maintain lab equipment such as reactors, analyzing equipment, etc.
  • Perform general lab assignments (e.g. raw material inventory review, lab house-keeping) as assigned.
  • Comply with regulations concerning safety, health and environment

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master student in the 2nd or 3nd year, majoring in Polymer Science, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Organic Chemistry.
