Position Responsibilities

• Practicing the 3 meter Attitude. • Greeting all Customers with a warm, friendly smile. • Ensuring each Customer receives a friendly, accurate and professional service. • Following the “One Best Way” standards of practice. • Operating a cash register by scanning items across an electronic scanner to record price, compile printed list, and display cost of the Customer's purchase, tax, and rebates on the monitor screen. • Assisting Customers with the bagging and loading of their merchandise. • Informing all customers about the Wal-Mart Rewards MasterCard and processing applications. • Promoting company sponsor programs, i.e., credit card service, product protection and charity initiatives, when applicable. • Moving to the outside/front of the register, when possible, to greet the next Customer. • Accepting all forms of Customer payment according to company guidelines. • Correctly counting back change to the Customer to prevent cash overages and shortages. • Making change, cashing cheques, and issuing receipts to Customers. • Scanning merchandise quickly and accurately. • Achieving the "Item Per Hour" goal. • Achieving the "Scanning" Percentage goal. Other responsibilities may be assigned. • Covering an assigned area on the salesfloor • Zoning assigned area • Working recovery merchandise from the Customer Service desk and other areas of the store • Assisting with Front End coverage • Moving feature merchandise to its modular home • Executing housekeeping as required • Communicating with other associates to ensure floor coverage is maintained Provides excellent Customer service through: • Practicing the 3 Meter Rule • Responding to customer requests for information and service • Assisting customer in locating merchandise Ensures that safe work habits are being followed by: • Performing warm-up stretches prior to shift • Being knowledgeable about emergency and safety procedures • Following pallet jack and equipment safety procedures • Following proper lifting techniques • Maintaining a safe work area, free of excess debris and fixtures • Following riser and ladder safety • Being knowledgeable with lockout/tag out procedures • Properly handling all liquid and chemical spills • Maintaining a clean accessible fixture room Ensures cleanliness through: • Disposing of trash/boxes quickly • Keeping a clean, hazard free work area • Maintaining clean modulars Demonstrates initiative and dependability by: • Working well on his/her own and requiring very littler supervision and follow-up • Excelling in a team working environment • Being flexible based on the freight flow and demand
