Job Description & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

  •   Plan, lay out and construct tooling, fixtures and dies according to engineering drawings.
  •   Repair and maintain dies, and fixtures as required.
  •   Give input/ideas to Engineering Department on tooling design/ fabrication alternatives for
  • unique or difficult jobs.
  •   Expected to troubleshoot and make changes to the dies to adhere to customer
  • requirements.
  •   Recommend changes to continuously improve tooling and processes.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  •   Interprovincial journeyman designation as a Toolmaker, or Machinist with proven Toolmaker experience.
  •   Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on manufacturing experience in a Tool Shop, preferably in the aerospace industry or other complex manufacturing industries.
  •   Demonstrated knowledge of machine shop practices, principles of mechanics, machine tool operations, advanced shop mathematics, use of precision measuring instruments, and working quality of materials.
  •   Ability and competence to work directly from complex drawings and blueprints.
  •   Experienced and competent with machining operations using manual mills and lathes.
  •   A real sense of urgency in executing tasks, as well as the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
  •   Ability to nurture a positive team environment in a union environment.
  •   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  •   Working knowledge of computer aided design systems would be an asset
  •   Forklift and crane experience an asset
  •   Successful candidate must be willing to undergo CGP & ITAR Clearance.

Responsibilities

  •   Main provider of Help Desk IT support for the Delta BC site users;
  •   Plan, provision, deploy, administer and troubleshoot users and user environments, workstations, laptops, tablets, VOIP phones, and smartphones.
  •   Configuration and deployment of SCCM packages, imaging of physical stations with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit;
  •   Assist other IT staff with projects related to user provisioning;
  •   Prepare & maintain documentation based on corporate standards;
  •   Work with the Information Technology team to plan, implement and manage security policies and procedures;
  •   Basic up-keep and maintenance of telecom rooms/server rooms;
  •   Stay current with new technology trends, establish best practices and set standards related to user environments;
  •   Handle hardware management alerts sent out when certain hardware conditions occur;
  •   Administration of smartphones and voice/data/text plans with Rogers;
  •   Perform other duties as required by IT Director and Senior System admin;
  •   Expected yearly travel 5%;

 

Qualifications

  •   Prepare and update planning data sheets for Manufacturing using Word and CATIA.
  •   Work with bills of materials using Excel.
  •   Prepare first article inspection plans using Excel.
  •   Detail and/or assembly methods planning.
  •   Bill and material construction.
  •   Design simple tools using CATIA or by hand.
  •   Departmental, shop, customer, and supplier liaison as necessary.
  •   Tool fabrication planning.
  •   Prepare sub contract documentation using Word.
  •   Other relevant duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  •   Degree/Diploma in Aerospace Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or other relevant education
  •   Must have experience in a manufacturing environment
  •   Knowledge of manufacturing methods relating to aerospace
  •   Priority will be given to candidates with knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, Set up Reduction, or Six Sigma
  •   Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, spreadsheet applications and databases
  •   Proficiency in CATIA is an asset.
  •   NC Programming is an asset
  •   Understanding of configuration control is an asset
  •   Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills
